Here is the deal. I have been knocking off one or two tracks a year that I have never been to before. Next year the wife and I are going to make a vacation of it. She needs warm weather, as in you can sit next to the pool and enjoy the warm temps. I need good racing. :D

My time frame for next year is February through mid April.

I am leaning towards Phoenix, Texas or Las Vegas. We nearly froze to death at Daytona a few years ago so that is out.

All input is welcome.

Phoenix is an awesome track , saw the Trucks and Cup cars there a few years back, Spring should be good weather, although it can be a little rainy that time of year there.

I have been to Vegas and actually was at the track but not for a NASCAR race. I have already checked the weather. I am really looking for the little nuances that make a track "special". Kinda like Richmond, Talladega or Bristol.

Local eateries and the such if you get my drift.

Keep the input flowing.

Thanks!

There's more excellent places to eat in Vegas than in any other city. Also, dirt track oval the same weekend as the Cup race :D

Homestead.

Not yet but it is on my bucket list. The weather is one thing that concerns me. My bride needs warm weather. Pool weather.

Even tho' it's Texas, it still isn't pool weather outside just yet. Unless it is an indoor pool. :D Although, I WILL be at the races this weeked. As a matter of fact, we will be heading to the track tomorrow afternoon!!!! WOOHOO!

I was bout to say the same thing. It gets frigid for the cup race...can be anywhere from 40 to 85.

You'd be shocked. Things get brutal in the camping areas if you don't keep an eye on them. Haulers rolled in today but gates dont open till thurs i think

I hope the weather is better for you guys out in Fort Worth than it was in Martinsville. There wasn't a single car that left that place clean, they were all covered in the red mud. They don't have any paved parking there, it was a mess! I feel bad for the people that camp out in tents there, that couldn't have been much fun.

We were there once and it rained really bad and a couple of drunk women were mud wrestling in the parking lot wearing bikinis.

For about 15 years we went to both races at Martinsville. Love it.

There is quite a lot to do, albeit not inside the track. :D You have to get your stuff all situated at the campsite and all, then the fun begins!
I couldn't find much to do on Friday at Martinsville except watch the cars that were stuck in the parking lot try to get unstuck. Although I was not camping at the track, my campground was the sheetz gas station down the road in my small car.

Yeh we have had tickets to Vegas since 1998, great place to see racing, 3/8 oval, half mile dirt, then the big track. You can't beat the atmosphere of Cup week at Vegas, probably only a few other tracks around where there is more to do. I would think that Bristol would be on your list of priorities, I'm going to the Modified and Truck race this year. Figure seeing how it is genereal admission I can check out different seats for future reference on the Cup side. I have always wanted to do the party scene just once at Dega and of course Daytona Speedweeks is wicked awesome, I know a couple of guys from work who went this year and had a blast.

It's usually hot as hell for the September race. The May race is iffy. It used to be warm then - but the past couple years, it's been 30 degrees colder than average (Global Warming:sarcasm:).
