Need some gasoline info from y'all in the East

The hubby and I are headed to Richmond tomorrow via I-40 through Tennessee to North Carolina.

Has anyone heard of shortages or extremely long lines up there?
Can't worry about the cost, since I can't do anything about that. LOL
 
If you're talking about Richmond Virginia, heard there are a few spotty shortages, as of last Friday "heard" gas was over $5.00 a gallon in Richmond, Va. Also "heard" some stations are refusing to sell gas at high prices so have covered their gas signs. Sorry I don't have any "concrete" info you, just rumor. I am well North of Richmond, Va....everything ok here, around $3.20 a gallon , haven't heard of any shortages.
 
I'm about an hour or so north of Richmond and haven't heard of any shortages around here. I'm seeing the average price in Northern VA about $3.19 for regular. I figure its about the same near Richmond, but I wouldn't put it past some stations bumping up the price since NASCAR is coming to town....
 
Thanks, guys. Looks like NC may be the biggest headache.

My hubby wanted me to check. He said he doesn't mind waiting in line, but he's not one to sit forever. LOL

I'm in charlotte, there are a few gas stations that are out of gas, but thats in the "big" city.....i'll ask some of buddies and see how it is outside of Charlotte....how far in NC on I40 are you commin? i'll check it out for ya.

TRL, gas is plentiful here in WS and is right around $3.00. My corner station is now at $2.97. Heard today a place in Greensboro that is selling gas for $2.79 right now. Probably will sell out before the weekend. :)
