And not see a replay of a race you've already seen?

I would guess that most of us have not seen the CASCAR races of 2002, I know I haven't. Speed Channel will begin its broadcasts of the races tonight and I beileive will show the entire 12 race season with a show each Friday night.

From the CASCAR web site:

November 21, 2002
TORONTO, ON - The 2002 CASCAR SUPER SERIES will begin its SPEED CHANNEL schedule this Friday (November 22nd) at 8:00 PM EST with Round #1; the MOPAR PARTS 250 from Delaware Speedway. It has been two years since Canada's premier late model division has been on North America's "Fastest Network" (formerly SPEEDVISION). American racing fans will once again have a chance to watch Canada's best racers battle for the CASCAR Championship.

SPEED will also replay each round at 1:00 AM EST. Friday (Saturday morning)
for prime time viewing for fans on the west coast.

CASCAR and the television producers would like to thank all of our sponsor
for bring the Super Series to short track fans across North America. A
special thanks to STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS (Blue Streak in Canada) for their participation in the SPEED CHANNEL broadcasts.

That sure sounds pretty cool. If only the cable company would give us Speed Channel...

Cascar is actually pretty fun to watch if no one has ever seen it. Sometimes you see cars with the same sponsors and similar paint schemes as you do in Cup. It's like WC cars on short tracks.

no sped channel no racing... this bites... at least i have everyone here to talk to about racing!

Thanks, HS... I will watch.... please keep us upto date on ANY racing.:)

I watched a great Rally on speed today:D

I just finished watching the CASCAR race. It was different. Definately short track racing. Lots of bumper tag, parts flying and a penalty for rough driving. Penalized driver caused a track blocking wreck. I don't think it was the caliber of Cup, but entertaining none the less.

Not a lot of "young Guns". Mostly vetern types. Some hobby
racers. I will say one thing, these guys were driving the wheels off those cars.

What struck me the most, was the pit road differences. No required helmets for pit crews . Tires left on pit road during the stops.

The race was shown in a 1 hour time slot, so a lot of the pit road action was edited out.

I guess, all in all, if you need a racing fix and have an hour to kill, give it a look. IMO

I watched, also. Definitely different. LOL

Parts going all over the place. Drivers break-checking and getting penalized. Wild spin-outs for no apparent reason.

But, a fun way to spend an hour on Friday night. :)

I have class while the orginal showing is on so I guess i will catch it at the later time. Not tonight though. Last night I could not breath bc i am gettign a cold and I only got 4 hours of sleep. Then went to class this morning at 8. Came home at 12 and i fell asleep at 3 woke up at 4:45 then went to class again. Now I am not even going to try and stay awake untill 1 tonight.

Check out the two Australian series: V8 Super Cars and, more difficult to find but probably just as or even more excitng the Touring Car series.

Hey, that sounds like our Saturday nights here in WS. That's the way the wife and I like our racing. BTW, the emotions run a bit higher at the local level as well. There is always a troup of cops at the track, and most nights, they earn their pay. :)
