I'll be going to Loudon, NH on the weekend of the New England 300, July 15-17. Me and my father are bringing a trailer over on the 9th and will be coming the next weekend.

Who else is going?

well good luck, i hope your trailer dont caught fire like that one on daytona lol

Have a safe time Snaggle! Please remember Kenny Irwin and Adam Petty while there.

Me and my father brought the trailer up Saturday. My parents'll be in New Hampshire tomorrow and I'll be over in NH tomorrow night after my chemistry class.

;)

Snagglepulse,

While you and your parents are here, take in some of the other attractions; Shaker Village is just up the hill from the Speedway, take a cruise on the MV Mount Washington around the big lake, maybe drive up the Carriage Road to the top of Mt. Washington and over the Kancamagus Highway from North Conway to Lincoln or spend a day at the seashore.

Lots of things to do here in New Hampshire.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

AWW Man, you just stirred up some wonderful memories! The Flume, Indian Lodge, The Old Man InThe Mountain (now deceased I believe), spelunking, covered bridges, and so much more. FRESH LOBSTER & STEAMERS!!!!!! CLEAN drinking water right out of the tap, beautiful foliage, the Appalatian Trail, camping and so much more!

Kat,

I've seen a pretty good portion of this old world and have yet to find anyplace as nice as right here in New Hampshire. Then again, it is home! Thank God for small favors.

Southerners like to talk about Southern Hospitality, but they don't even come close to that which is found here in my home state.

My future son-in-law is living here now; he's from Texas, spent a few years traveling around the world in the army, as did his father, and both of them cannot believe that our lakes and rivers are blue instead of green or mud colored brown, that our water is pure enough to drink right out of the ground without a whole lot of chemicals being added to it and they've even found that having four different seasons is something to look forward to.

Unfortunately, too many folks from other states are finding out just what we do have to offer here and they are moving in, putting housing developments and condos where farm pasture used to be, developing the small towns and then complain because they're not living in a small town anymore.
Thank God that I probably don't have all that many more years to have to bear witness to the wholesale destruction of what nature created here.

I can remember when I could go into the woods not all that far north of where I live with a backpack and a rifle, spend a week or two wandering around and not even come close to another human being. It isn't that way anymore.

Yeah, the Old Man of the Mountain finally fell off the face of the cliff there in Franconia Notch. That in spite of extensive work trying to keep the old boy up there. It was a pretty sad day for New Hampshire folks everywhere. I guess he simply wasn't very pleased with events in the world today.

Speaking of fond memories; I've got a few of places like Westboro, Norwood, West Peabody, Groveton, Thompson, Stafford Springs, Agwam and so many other great tracks that have been tossed on the trash heap in the name of progress.
The last time I was at Westboro, I think it was the last year they ran there, the entire plant was in pretty sad shape. Track was cracked and breaking up, pits were just that and I'm not sure what was holding the stands up, but they were still full of modified fans.
Agwam became a parking lot for a Six Flags amusement park, I'm not sure about some of the others, but Stafford Springs and Thompson are still in business. Haven't made the trip to either in years now.
As far as I know, Seekonk is still up and running as well, but again, it's been quite a few years...

But ain't it been a fun life?

thats how mooresville used to be when i was a youngin....now it has housing developments everywhere...the old farm i lived on for a spat now has bout 500 houses on it...unfortantly thats what happens when you live near a big city (charlotte) and become the home of nascar.

It's been 15 years since I've been back North, so I'm sure one heck of a ot has changed. Norwood used to be for "date night" and so was Thompson. Much more fun than the drive-in. Sad that so many old, wonderful tracks have fallen victem to "progress".

one of my sisters lives on Lake Norman in Mooresville and knows absolutely nothing about Nascar (silly woman). She raised her family there and believe it or not, none of them do either.

I went to the July Loudon race in 2003, My 3 brothers and I drove up from Albany NY on Sunday morning so unfortunately we didn't have time to see the town but we enjoyed the race. The track is flat so passing is difficult. Have a great time.
