Computer done blow'd up last night. POS was only 10 years, 3 months old and used 6-8 hours a day for work for 5+ years then retired to surfing, emails and forums. Think they'd last longer....

Wowsers 2 gig of ram is faster than 256 meg. Same with the CPU. Also this one doesn't have the crank on the side to wind it up.

New keyboard is smaller and lacks cigarette ash too. Since my mini stroke I type one handed and the light that indicateS CAPS LOCK IS TO DAMM DIM.

hmm.....*too bad shipping from RI to Tx would cost too much*

My parents say I have enough crap in my drawers......15 drawers is a tad many.

That made me laugh.
I worded it that way on purpose.

literally crap from wall to wall, ceiling to floor. And even more in the attic, through the door...

LOL.

on right side, one bin is power cables, one is telecom, one is coax video cable, 1 is an old CB and a spare subwoofer amp, couple junk drawers, knex drawer, 2 drawers of misc. power stuff (transformers, molex leads, ect, the 2 drawers that are overflowing), drawer for data wires (PATA & SATA), and an "everything else" drawer.

on left side, 2 drawers full of computer power supplies, drawer of keyboards and old gaming wheel, bottom drawer has an old dell that died, in back is a drawer of drawing stuff, 2 empty drawers, and a drawer of electrical stuff.

Giant box on top is full of CD drives, a couple pentium2 and 3 processors, keyboards, and lots of PCI and ISA cards.

Here on my computer desk, I have a windows 95 laptop with Win2K on it (working), an old compaq laptop that was given to me, my primary laptop, my desktop, my media center computer, 3 displays on a single tri-VESA stand, a cat house, and our track laptop.

When we were doing a massive system upgrade at work, this was a coworker and I's battle station for 4 solid days. We only left to sleep.

Just hooked up to two monitors after replacing the hard drive. The other one crapped out after six years but took everything, and I mean everything, with it. The moral to the story is similar to the slogan in real estate sales, location, location, location! With computers its backup, backup, backup!

Good luck with the new computer SST. Maybe some day I'll get enough computer knowledge to hook up two monitors or two computers to make things easier.

Sorry to hear of your data loss, but by now, I thought everyone knew to do data back ups. There quite a few backup HDD that all you do is plug them in, set them up and they back up as you save items

please tell me it was a fireball or seagate barricuda of the old fashioned style...

Western used to be the king. Seagate was horrible. Seagate's slowly turning the tables, and WD is helping them by lowering their quality. We ordered 12 3TB westerns at work, 4 were DOA. But we only needed 4, and kept 4 for spares.
