Hey, Long time viewer first time poster. Saw this commercial last night on Espn. What do yall think.

Thank you. Not much of a talker but i try to give good opinions.

Ahhh, they were showing this one all weekend during the NASCAR & NHRA events. I think it's spot on, there is a big difference in being the best driver of your era & being regarded as the best driver ever. Now the other guys in that commercial, which for some reason did not include Jeff Gordon, earned it all of them through blood & sweat. Jimmie was placed in a quality ride with a great crew chief from jump street & only had to keep it off the wall. One of the possibly negative things that was said about Rick Mears driving career is that he was placed in the Penske car & directed what to do like a robot, like anyone could've done it. Of course we all know that was false because Roger had a lot of drivers who didn't even do a third of what Rick accomplished for him. Jimmie is kinda the same like Rick Mears, how would his career have progressed had he started out with say Bill Davis racing? We'll never know, we look at a driver like Dale Earnhardt who has the seven titles but what he, Cale & Richard all have in common is they all had those superhero like Ironman days when it looked like there was no way & they still won it. I just never really see that with Jimmie, except maybe at Martinsville but usually if he's fast he wins, if he's not he doesn't. When the cars not that great he struggles, he just doesn't complain like other drivers. He's just not a very flamboyant driver like the other guys. Lets say he gets his 6th, 7th, or even 8th title. To me it'll be more of a number than a significant NASCAR achievement just because he's had such a plain road to travel it seems. Maybe if he had been able to catch Brad last season & beat him in Homestead like Tony did the year before I would feel differently but I don't...

No one will do it better then DALE. He won with three different CC .

Thanks for your opinions. As for my, I like it. I do wish Jeff Gordon was in this commercial like in between Richard and Dale. Thou i think Jimi is greatly help by RCR and His crew chief he alone drives that car every race and deserves to be up their if he can get 6 championships or more. Also I do not think he will be better then the king or the intimidator.

Just wondering why Jimmi was hiding all his amazing ability in Nationwide/Busch series? Kinda hard for me to call him the greatest driver of a generation when he averaged a 19th placed finish prior to Cup.

who is going to out do him? I can't see anyone ready to step up and win six in a row.

Nice idea but the celebrity look-a-likes standing in for Petty and Earnhardt were kinda obvious.

Was that Si from Duck Dynasty in the background at about the 0:05 mark ?

I'm not saying anyone will especially when his back up cars are faster then everyone's primaries. My point is he was an average driver before he starting racing Cup, it would scary to see what a proven driver would do the Chad and his equipment. We could easily be calling Kyle, Kurt, Harvick, Biffle, Boyer, Stenhouse, Truex, etc.. The greatest driver of of generation

I like it but the 24 needs to be in there somewhere. I like how they have Bowyer in it too because he was runner up last year. Almost.

I'm sure it pains him to play second fiddle to Chad's driver even though he pretends he loves the 48's success.. poor guy

Welcome to the OP! This forum has some sketchy people, but just dont let them mind warp you and you will be good kay? ;)

Lol cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not...he's mediocre in NW.

And about Jimmie and Chad...I say its equal parts equipment/CC, driver, and luck in Jimmie's case. If he was in a good not great ride (say FRR) he would probably do similar stuff to what Kurt has done -- great racing, but clearly suffering due to the equipment.

That's simply the nature of the sport now. It isn't about being the best driver, it is about having the right driver/CC combination, team, equipment, etc. The 48 team has pretty much everything right. Remember when Regan Smith ran a few races in the 88? He got a top-10, and was poised for another but the engine blew. The point is simple: cars do make a difference nowadays, and that's just the way it is. Comparing drivers of different eras is trivial; we have no idea how Dale Sr. or Richard Petty would perform in these machines, just like we'll never know if Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson would be successful in the old days.

And you gotta remember, Jimmie learned a lot from Jeff Gordon after he came to Cup. A mentor can do wonders when it comes to improving skill. Jimmie was a very accomplished off-road racer, and was able to hone his stock car skills after leaning from Jeff, so I think it's a bit much when people claim that he'd be junk on a different team.

No , But it did favor Mtn. Man from Duck Dynasty.

Great commercial! I love it. Shows that the sport is still very much intense.

Gordon should be in Keselowski's spot. Bowyer should be replaced by Stewart's old #20 Pontiac. Why the hell is Bowyer in this commercial? Anyway - Johnson is the Petty/Earnhardt/Gordon of our mordern era. No denying that. I'd love to see Johnson get to 8 championships just to have some new blood at the summit of the mountain (and watch Earnhardt nation **** a brick). I kinda dig this one over the burnout commercial. Next we could have a victory lane celebration transformation every time the fireworks go off, camera pans behind a sign for a split second, champagne is exaggeratedly sprayed, and the camera flips black and forth from the interviewer to the driver.

Pretty sure they were both there just to show Modern NASCAR. And I also noticed they finish 1-2 in last years championship.
