I know he isnt a major topic anymore but its not too hard to figure out who my favorite driver is. ( steve park ). I was curious to know if Park has other oppurtunities besides the Loudon race in September for TBR. Also I know he s&p earlier at Talladega. Thanks for any and all info.

Don't know much about him, but he has the perfect name for a start and park driver. "SP will SP today". :( (I wonder if his middle name is Andy?)

FenderBumper, Steve was a up and coming young driver for Big E before the horrible accident at Darlington.

Sparkie, haven't heard much about Steve, lately. I'm sure he's racing somewhere. And welcome to the board. :beerbang:

Thanks TRL yeah he was never the same I still think he can be competive just needs the oppurtunity to show it

Welcome, Sparkie88.

Park was a good, young talented driver but it seems that he never fully recovered from being t-boned at Darlingon - slurred speech aside.

He also was involved a couple more pretty bad crashes before DEI let him go.

He's been running some K&N (won at Adriondack a couple years ago) and ran an ARCA race last year.

Yeah one crash I think we all remember with Park after he came back was the Pocono crash with Dale Jr. He was racing East series I think he was replaced by Andrew Ranger in the #35. Also he did run an arca race last year he also drove for Eddie Sharp in the trucks ( team debut ). From what I have read he had a truck ride with them this yr but no sponsorship to back him up also TBR is trying to run a 2nd car full time next year and he is in the mix for that ride.

welcome Sparkie88 :) steve was/is one of my favorite drivers also. unfortunately, the darlington crash effectively ended his cup career. he's now in his mid 40's. not much demand for someone that age in nascar's 3 upper divisions.

That was a freak accident at Darlington.

FYI, it's on youtube .

You don't know much about him? He's a fellow New Yorker. You must be a newbie to racing. He comes from a racing family up your way.

Newbie? How do you figure that? Watched a few races in the mid to late '90's, became a regular viewer in 2000, so I sure remember the guy. He didn't have much of a career, and he fell off the Cup map 8 years ago. Only a hardcore Park fan would be up to date on where his career is at.

.... and we all know of Steve's bad practice crash at Atlanta when the throttle stuck. He also had a nasty crash at the start of the NCTS race at Atlanta in 2005 on the first lap. He was t-boned pretty bad on lap 1. Walked away from it, though.
