Unfortunately the boxes that my cat likes do not include the litterbox! Hence the name Sh1tty Kitty.

After I get settled into my new home I'm gonna buy me a kitty. I had one my whole life while living with my parents so it seems like I should have one while out on my own.
I just dunno what kind I want right now. Any suggestions from the cat expert?
I had one kitty that lived to be 19 years old(human years). She was solid black with yellow eyes that would glow in the dark. It was pretty scary to see if you weren't looking for her and all you saw were eyes. Some people say that black cats are bad luck but I don't belive that for a second. I might just go with another black kitty.

I will refrain from any cat's out of the bag comments.
BC, I echo HH. Go to the shelter. They usually have a wide variety. Have been checked, vaccinated and usually neutered/spayed.

BC 24, a spayed female from the shelter or a friend is the best choice.
My black kitty was my companion for 17 years 'til she went to heaven 2 years ago today. She was with me when I lived alone after my divorce and when I moved from RI to GA. She had a heart of gold and everyone loved her....miss personality plus even won over my hubby #2 who hated cats.
My newer kitty came from a friend who is a vet at an emergency shelter/surgery. She had been abused, neglected and thrown out of a car then left to die. Very skittish at first (who could blame her), but now a dear friend. She is a grey tiger with a small white bib, 1 tall white boot and three feet with white toes.
Shelters are much better for adopting, pet stores have no clue and the kittens are not innoculated.
