Got this off Twitter.

If 1st practice is run, but qualifying is canceled, the starting lineup will be based on speeds from the car’s fastest lap from the first practice, with top-35 cars in owner points no longer segregated from the non-top 35 cars. Previously, the top 35 cars lined up in front of all other eligible car owners.

I like this. Now, if more than 43 guys show up to qualify, those drivers in points pos. between 35 & 42 better bring it, right off the trailer.

Too bad Michael Waltrip may have spent more time on the paint scheme of his Cup car than his qualifying setup. This rule (and mother nature) bit him in the rear big time.

He and Darrell must be heartbroken.

I don't like this. Practice is for getting your car right, not gambling on a starting spot.

Not sure what that means? Mikey put down a great qualifying run

Wonder if Michael Waltrip will try and convince NASCAR to let him parade his car around the track during pre-race activities?
