New Qualifying System

I'm new to this board so I'm sure this has been talked about long ago, but I really like watching this new way of qualifying. I'm not always for change but I think this is a good change.

I have a question about this format however. I haven’t seen much of the knock-out qualifying this year but I was under the impression that it was 3 rounds, with the first round picking the top 24, second round picking the next 12 and the 3rd and final round picking the actual pole winner.

I just finished watching the qualifying for the Loudon race and it was only two rounds. The first round picked the first 12 and the 2nd and final round picked the pole winner. What am I missing?

I posed this question before but no one knows the answer. Why do they park diagonally, nose in, along pit road during qualifying?

Welcome FC98. There are some threads about it around here somewhere. I wasn't for it at first, but after I read up on it, I think it is better than the old version, but I think in the right situation on the points side, teams can still cheat if it is close to get an open spot. I don't think that part matters much anyway as far as winning a championship, if you can't win a race by then, you aren't going to win it all anyway.
