The goings on in Texas really shook up the points standings quite a bit.

8. Ryan Newman -242

Youch! Not going to be as tight a race this year methinks. Though it is early.

It is very early, but Matt Kenseth looks like the real deal so far. Paul, nice to have you back. :)

Matt was my pick last year too, but I think it's going to happen this time round.
 
Well last year at this time it was like so...

1) #40-Sterling Marlin, 1082 (currently 23rd 695 points)
2) #17-Matt Kenseth, 1012 (1st - 1090)
3) #48-Jimmie Johnson, 963 (5th - 885)
4) #2-Rusty Wallace, 950 (14th - 771)
5) #6-Mark Martin, 938 (13th - 773)
6 #24-Jeff Gordon, 909 (6th - 864)
7) #97-Kurt Busch, 893 (2nd - 935)
8) #20-Tony Stewart, 887 (7th - 849)
9) #28-Ricky Rudd, 847 (12th - 780)
10) #9-Bill Elliott, 837 (33rd - 587)
 
If you noticed, Tony Stewart finished last, last year at Daytona, and Newman did that this year, and Tony was 8th in points and Ryan is 8th in points at this point too...I think It may be Newman's year from the stats I have provided! :) :p :)

That just goes to show you...You can make numbers say anything if you play with them enough ^_^

If I really, really tried, I could probably use numbers to group the entire Tampa Bay Devil Rays roster with Hall of Famers.
