New Years Eve plans

Anyone going to venture out on Amatuer Night?

Not us. First, there is not much here in our little town.
Second, we just prefer staying in and celebrate quietly.

Our neighbors LOVE fireworks, so we have our own private show. We can also calm the dogs --- fireworks and gunfire send them into a frenzy.

One of our neighbors have a party every year...Much better than dealing with DRUNKS you don't know

Going to a co-workers house party but it looks like I'll be the driver so ice water for me.

Hopefully someone comes up with a different plan, though ;)

I'm going to a party tonight and staying with them overnight. I won't be out on the road until early morning when everyone is in bed snoozing. I just feel much safer doing it this way.

We, wife and I, haven't left the house on new years eve in 30+ years. We used to do the overnight resort thing. A group of us would go together. Check into the resort, car keys were locked up at the front desk, relax in the room, drink, dinner, drink, entertainment/dancing while drinking then back to the room(s) after midnight and drink more. Next morning breakfast and checkout. After our son was born my wife wouldn't leave him overnight, not even with her mom or mine.

My daughter is on the rescue tonight, 6 pm to 6 am and as usually they expect to be busy. Rescue 2 is also on.

My son isn't a drinker, he'll be here waiting for calls and will go get his friends and drive them home.

Everybody please be safe.

Same plans as always, sit at the house. Although I do have a half gallon of Jim Beam that has my name on it for tonight.

Same thing as always, work. Work until 12am, won't get to do anything and will be off work just in time for the drunk drivers to be on the road.

2012 is gonna be a good year though and it starts off with big change.

staying at home. Wife and I will have:

shrimp, coleslaw, bread, cheese dip, and some salsa with chips. Oh yeah, a bottle of Riesling and a bottle of Moscato.

If you like good bourbon try some Rip Van Winkle 15 year old, the Pappy Van Winkle is exceptional, 20 years old and smoooofer than a baby's butt.:)

Drinking crappy beer (possibly the worst beer ever) is no way to celebrate New Years Eve.

Are you serious ?? Corona with lime is my favorite but this tastes almost just like it with 2 benefits....dont have to mess with a lime and its cheaper!

I dont like Budweiser at all but they did thier homework on this beer, tastes good.

Your taste buds need help then. I've drank both, and find that the "lime flavoring" that they add to the Bud Light comes across to me as a completely manufactured (and horribly so) taste to it, and so completely differs from a the real lime that one would add Corona.

And besides, I personally prefer my beer to actually taste like beer, not fruit. (unless that fruit is barley and hops)

Corona tastes like rat urine.

^ This.

Corona............... Mexican lite beer! :p

It's drinkable but barely. I just never understood the attraction to Corona. I'm thinking that it is the "trendy" thing to drink. I like a beer that has a little bite to my tongue.

If I am going to order or buy a Mex beer, it will be a Modelo.... without the fruit.

I like to taste my beer. I had a bottle of Corona and threw it across the house.

I find that Corona, like Sol, tastes "skunky". Kind of like beer smells when it's been left in the sun for to long but to each their own :beerbang:

I'll be enjoying a few of these...

Hmmm, what am I going to do. After working my normal 9 hours pounding the streets, I got home and am now working on my second beer and watching some college basketball. The wife and I will probably hit the rack (going to sleep) around 9:30. Haven't rang in the new year for several years now. I guess it just reminds us that we are another year older. Hope everyone has a good time whether at home or away. Happy New Year to all.

As for Mexican beer, I believe that Corona is like Budweiser, the biggest with the most money. Personally, I prefer Negre Modelo when it comes to Mexican beer. At the moment, I'm drinking a nice German beer, Schneider Weisse. But as most know, my favorite is that black Irish beer, Guiness. Maybe it's the Irish in me. :beerbang:

I believe I kinda agree with you although when I can drink a beer I prefer Newcastle, but the german beers are pretty good.

as far as Corona goes.....pretty bad beer and the same for Budweiser, especially lime.....yuck......a waste of money.

Happy New Year to everyone! If you live in L.A. find some shelter by 12:01am, that's when the lead begins falling back down to earth :D

Working 12 hours until 6 am. New years has never been a biggee to me, I am not a drinker.

We stay in ...

We snack on finger foods, watch TV .... movies and such. Watch Dick Clark/Ryan Seascrest bring in the New Year ... it's simple but we would rather be in our own home celebrating with the housewine of the south ... "Sweet Tea"!!!

I might have to check into that. I only got this cause hubby works for a liquor distributor and they gave it to him. :)

Here it is 10:30 and I've finished off a couple bottles of Schnider Weisse and a half bottle of Bogle Pinot Noir and it's time to go to bed. I might try to sneak one more nip of the wine, but then it's straight to bed. Not the big probably is what to have for dinner tomorrow. Southerners give you advice and then Northerners say what you may say. My southwestern fans already know what they want as to the midwestern friends.

Now If I can just find a wheelborrow and someone to wheel it with me in it to take me back to my bed. I'm ready to hand it up. Nine hours of work, then coming home and cooking, while at the same time sampling some great vino and then downing a couple of great German beers, then sampling a bottle of Bogle Pino Noir, I find myself very sleepy, and I've taken my sleeping pill already. BTW, she also loves to go by the name of Buckymay. But of course the real question is will she? Maybe!

Good night all and Happy New Year.

BTW my little pirate guard, did I say little? anyway, Gretchen is on call all this week and if you have a problem with me, I'll just ask here to sit on you for an hour or so. Isn't she just the daintiest thing you've ever seen? Any negative remarks about Gretchen and I'll have her find you and sit on you for an hour or two, just to make you humble. :D
