The consensus seems to be among others on other sites, is that the FORD should dominate, track or drag.
Good info from autoblog users:
A. Car & Driver just tested the ZL1 and the figures are on par with the current GT500. 0-60 in 4.1s (same as Shelby), 0-100mph in 8.9s (9.1s for the Shelby), 1/4mi. in 12.3s (12.4s GT500).
B. Gm has some legitimate concerns about the upcoming 2013 GT 500 Mustang which when dynoed by Ford [ latest Hot Rod magazine article ] made 670HP @ 7000rpm and 600tq. The ZL1 [ 580HP ] was recently tested against the Boss 302 [ 444HP ] and in the 0-60mph the numbers were only 1 tenth apart and in the 1/4 mile the Camaro ran a 12.1et against the Boss 302's 12.4et. That's only a 3 tenths margin of victory and the 2013 GT 500 is making over 200 more HP than the Boss 302. You don't have to be a NASA engineer to figure out that a 200HP advantage is good for a lot more than 3 tenths in the 1320. The GT 500 is also 300lbs lighter than the ZL1 and that alone is good for a 2-3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. When you take all of the numbers that are provided and there are many, the 2013 GT 500 should be good for 11.50-11.60 et's and these numbers should be consistant.
