Newman getting off scott free?

On lap 65 Ryan Newman ran over Casey Mears resulting in an unbelievable rollover from Scott Riggs and collecting Biffle and the 31 car almost getting crushed by the flying #10 of Riggs.

After Newman caused all of this he went on to finish in the top five.

Interesting you guys aren't bashing the hell out of him too.

Well yeh ...just another restrictor plate incident right?

Not bashing Newman? Now why do you think that is?

I didn't see any conclusive video of how Newman turned Mears around and Newman took responsibility. Johnson immediately got out of his car and blamed #8 after it CLEARLY showed what happened.

Johnson needs to check that rose colored visor he wears.

From my perspective and opinion, the main reason why Riggs got the best ride of the day was because he was attempting to avoid the wreck in front of him and couldn't get a clear shot out like he expected too. Granded, JJ didn't wreck him, but because of the mistakes made, Riggs was just caught up in it.

Newman did not deflect blame unlike Johnson who does it every single time. That is why most people have a problem with Johnson.

Agreed, all Johnson needs to do is own up to his mistake, take it like a man and move on to the next race. The more he pawns off the blame, the longer people are going to dog him.

look, most of us understand that these things happen at plate races...the problem we are having is that JJ does not stand up for the mistakes he makes....he continues to blame other drivers for the mistakes he makes...thats a problem, he's loosing respect from a lot of people from that.

when newman was asked about it yesterday..he said he didnt know if he did do it...but if he did, then he's sorry he did it....thats why JJ is getting slammed.

I wonder how Martin feels feels about Johnson telling him " I wanna be just like you when I grow up"?

It certainly has. It's real easy to sit on your couch and point fingers and say so-and-so did something wrong. But until you're out there in these cars at these speeds and seeing all the near misses and what is really going on, it's not worth forming an opinion. I don't know what happened there but all anybody can say is that this is Talladega.
The above was a statement by Johnson.

It doesn't matter what you say....it's how you say it. HE BLEW IT from the first interview.

:D

...exactly the response I expected. Nice work.

He added, "I'll take responsibility. It's not a big deal to me. I can accept that. But, when you're getting pushed, there is not a lot you can do. But it's a little tough when you've got somebody tucked under your butt pushing you as hard as that."[/QUOTE]

Did he really take the responsibility?

..now aero push doesn't exsist. Everyone note that. =) Even when Mears commented that that was one of the reasons he got turned by Newman before seeing the tape.

He will not say, It's my fault or I take responsibility and leave it at that. He always adds an an excuse. Rather it's valid or not.

So you're just proving the point I made
here . Regardless if there's an apology, he could have a valid reason why he screwed up and it still isn't good enough.

Fair enough, at least you've got the nuts to actually say it. Everyone else drinking the Haterade is hiding behind other B.S. I truly appreciate that. If most of these people would just tell the truth I think we'd find most of them just don't like Jimmie, but instead it's all B.S. =)

I DON'T like Johnson and my comments about him are in no way meant to insult any of his fans. If they choose to take the hits for him, that's their decision. It would be keeping in true Johnson style.

I'll stand up and say that for some unknown reason I don't like Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon, and am not too fond of Ryan Newman. I don't know why --- I admire their talent tremendously and think they are good drivers -- yes, they do screw up, but who doesn't?

We all have those people who just rub us the wrong way --- you can't put your finger on it, it is just there.

name one time when JJ has gotten out of his car and said...i did it..it was my fault...no one elses but mine.

every other high profile driver out there has said it....JJ needs to stop blamming others for his mistakes and take full responsiblity for what he's done.....how would you feel if you didnt have anything to do with the wreck and someone else blammed you for it? thats exactly what JJ did to JR.....you dont aero push someone like JJ hit the 38...the way the 38 spun was not because someone took air off of his car...it was a direct result of his car being hit and turned around...go watch the replay again.

newman took responsiblity and didnt blame someone else...unlike JJ..thats a major reason why he has such little respect from a lot of fans.

Id say boycott Lowes because of JJ's actions and attitude...but damnit, they are headquarted in my hometown and i dont want to hurt a hometown business...its so sad that lowes pumps their money into a driver like JJ.

I've said all along it was Jimmie's fault. Jimmie hit the 38. Where was it said he didn't? I don't need to rewatch the reply, you need to re-read every post I've made. =)

As far as people not liking Johnson, (Patrick, TX lady) that's fine and I don't take it personal, however, you have to agree until I brought up the point of people hiding behind whether he apologized or not no one was coming out and saying; "I hate the dumbass, I'm glad he screwed up again." Everyone wanted to sit in their high-saddle and berrate the guy like they could do any better.

As far as guys apologizing, after all this, I don't care if they do anymore or not. It clearly doesn't make a difference to most folks here unless it's their favorite number on the side.

jR may have hit Jimmy b4 he hit the 38. It is a lot diff while your out in the car, then on tv. So im with Kyle, if ya bash one guy, ya got to go after the orther one to.

What I don't like is that we seem to feel it necessary that we assign blame to just one driver. Why does it HAVE to be someone's fault? Isn't there enough blame to go around?

One has to give Newman some leeway that Johnson doesn't get. You see, Jimmy has a neck, so he has the ability to look around & assess the situation and avoid confrontation. Newman ,on the other hand, is Neckless and is like a horse with blinders on. Tunnel Vision. Because of this physical handicap, I can in no way blame Ryan for making a mistake like that. ;)

I think it was George Bush's fault, personally. Or maybe FEMA's.

JJ finally took responsiblity for the wreck and has apologized to the drivers involved....after he saw a replay of the wreck he said he felt terrible.

thats good to hear...im glad he's finally stepped up and taken the blame.

in other words: Jimmie was getting harrased from everyone in the world so he had to apologize. How long did it take him to see the replay? And of course his team never saw the replay :bleh:
