Dale Earnhardt Inc. announced today that it will substitute Dale Earnhardt Jr. with a lesser known team of road course specialists this Sunday at Watkins Glen, New York.

The team, known as The Arkansas Chugabug with Luke and Blubber Bear, will take command of the Budweiser #8 for a one-race deal, despite not having raced professionally in more than twenty years.

Dale Jr. could not be reached for comment.

I couldn't get lucky enough for them to make the swap permanently. :D

I get Luke and Blubber Bear too?

You've had it now TN, I've seen these guys race:D

In a related move, MBV Motorsports has just announced a one-time substitute for the twice-injured Johnny Benson. The Buzzwagon, with Rufus Ruffcut and Sawtooth, is expected to make its Winston Cup debut this Sunday at the Glen.

Due to the dirty-driving reputations of these last-minute entries, NASCAR officials expect to penalize often and early in the upcoming race.

I have to agree with you TN-Ward-Fan.

Dale Junior. If there is one driver on the Cup Tour that I can't stand it's him. For all his hype, it's too bad he can't be a decent role model for my son (age eight) who think he's wonderful.

Give him a little time Rivers,

While much is made of the posse and the beering and such, Jr is a whole lot more than that as a person. He gives a lot of himself to the fans and is involved with a lot of stuff ot help kids out. More than you find out about on TV and such unfortunately.

Keep an eye out around here, folks here are pretty good about finding the good stuff these drivers and teams do.

glad your son's a race fan!! :)

Upon hearing of his teammate's sudden replacement at Watkins Glen, fellow DEI driver, Steve Park, has opted out of this Sunday's race.

The Slag Brothers, Rock and Gravel, will finally get a chance to take their beating and banging style of racing to the big leagues after centuries of cave-dwelling in the minors.

They were hoping to debut at Rockingham.

I used to love watching that show on cartoon network when I was about 5, what was the name of it?

The Wacky Races

Not entirely unlike what we see the big boys do every Sunday on television. :D

Thats was a great show, any idea if they are still playing it anywhere?

Funny...I was about to ask you the same thing.

I haven't seen it in years. My brothers and I used to watch it every Saturday morning. I was always Penelope Pitstop, of course. ;)

This is Penelope in her Compact Pussycat. Terry Labonte need not worry...

Oh man I had totally forgotten about that Old Cartoon...Thanks for the fun abooja!

One late entry into this Sunday's contest at Watkins Glen has stunned race fans worldwide. The #3 car will make its heroic return to Winston Cup racing, if not in a drastically different package.

Richard Childress is expected to field a back-up driver for the inexperienced Professor Pat Pending, in the newly revamped #3 Convert-a-Car.

When probed for answers, an intoxicated Childress said "I just don't know if this is gonna work". "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

"If nothing else, maybe the Professor can teach young Kevin a thing or two about...science and stuff."

Those pictures are classic. Although I'm not sure those cars will pass pre or post-race inspection. Hehe.

Those pics are a great blast from the past. However, Gordon24fan has just reminded me of my age. When I watched the cartoon, there was no such thing as cartoon netwok....

Due to the dearth of competitors in Sunday's road race, a new, independently owned entry is expected to make its first Winston Cup qualifying attempt this Friday at Watkins Glen.

The notorious Dick Dastardly and his mute hound, Muttley, will attempt to drive the purple #00 Mean Machine into Victory Lane for the first time ever in his checkered history.

Pbunch, a heckuva nice guy from Ohio, will serve as the duo's interim Crew Chief.

How funny!! I think they still show that show on the Boomerang channel, I think that channel is owned by Cartoon Network.

ROTF, spew tea, can't breathe.

I used to push my kids away from the tube just to watch it.

Of course I ALWAYS rooted for Penelope, and like in the Vaudville days, HISSED and BOOED for Dastardly and Muttly.

Heeeeee!Heeeeeeeee!Heeeeeeeeee! Heeee!I like it,Maybe I should make that my new Avatar.:p :ROFLMFAO: Dang its allready 3pm.I need to go home and rest.Work is killing me.:p

Here's an avatar-sized version, but I wonder if it's not too small...

:p ...and Sean Penn will be driving the #20 Home Depot Pontiac this week...news at 11.

are these drivers that choose not to race at road courses afraid or do they just know they suck there or what??? no offence to the drivers previously mentioned.

Jimmy Spencer --- Best road racer since Rick Mears!!!!!:p :bleh:

Hmm, the 00 car. Looks like Buckshot is off the farm and ready to go racing again. hehe.

I recommend that pbunch quickly get in touch with Boris and Natasha as assistant crew chiefs. hehehehe

looks like richard will be driving the 45 this weekend also
