AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft. Auburn released a statement Thursday night announcing the quarterback's decision. Newton led the Tigers to their first national title since 1957 and a 14-0 season with a 22-19 victory over Oregon on Monday night in his lone season. Newton rushed for 1,473 yards and 20 touchdowns while passing for 2,854 yards and 30 TDs.

I guess we know who the Panthers QB will be???

He might take a pay cut going pro....
lol

wonder if he'll be drafted as a qb or converted to rb/te. with his athletic ability and at 6'6", 250 lbs i'd draft him and see what he can do as a pro. i'm not convinced he can play pro qb though.

He'd make a great tightend in my opinion, unless he refines his QB skills I don't see him making it as an NFL QB. It will be interesting under the right coach what Newtons' final position will be, definetly a good athelete, with a lot of potential....hope he lives up to it.

tight end, little wide receiver, throw in some wildcat plays, move him around so the defense can't get too comfortable with him in one spot. i see him as an *insurance* qb if needed. oh yeah, put him on special teams when expecting an onside kick. this is also how i thought (and still do) tim tebow should have been used.

Good point, heard today he might get traded.
