NFL Week 16

Mark Sanchez has finally been benched. Tebow is apparently looking for a trade or a release from the Jets. I don't like Tebow but he never had a shot with the Jets.

I challenge anyone on this board to name a full time starting QB that's worse than Sanchez.

Blaine Gabbert. But Jacksonville finally had the sense to bench him after a year and a half.

Trading for Tebow made no sense. Rex Ryan brought him there to put pressure on Mark Sanchez - but he never took Sanchez out. How do you motivate a guy, threatening that you're going to put the new shiny object in, if you don't ever do it and he knows he can continue to start while doing a half-ass job?

I think it was just a hey look what we did thing. They never planned on using him.

Tim Tebow may or may not have a future as an NFL quarterback. He certainly has his negatives. He is horribly inaccurate for an NFL quarterback. But, he has an uncanny ability to make huge plays when needed. I've never seen anybody be that inaccurate for most of the game and then become a sharpshooter when the game is on the line. His heart and leadership are unquestioned. I like the guy, but even I don't know if he could ever be a consistent winner in the NFL, as a quarterback. That being said, the Jets have treated him horribly and sabotaged their own team in the process.

But they sold a lot of tickets by waving him around in front of the fans and making them think he might play a game.

I'm gonna be in football heaven on Sunday. Will have to wheel in the 2nd tv (older tv with converter box, but who cares!) in the living room to watch both Pittsburgh vs. Cincinatti (go Steelers!) and Dallas vs. New Orleans (go Saints!).
Then, my Cards take on 'da Bears.
Finally, Seattle vs. SanFran (go Seahawks!).

(Oh, yeah, got Atlanta vs. Detroit on Sat night, as well. Don't count out Detroit on this one.)

Can't wait.

I'm looking forward to the 142-3 loss Jacksonville's gonna get this weekend :(
Believe me, Andy. There was a time when I used to read EVERY post given on this forum on a daily basis. I don't anymore.
With that being said, when did you become a Jaguars fan? I thought you always and only pulled for the Redskins? Did I miss something?

I've been a Jags fan my whole life (well, actually, since when they became a franchise)... Redskins are my #2 team. But I could never get the Jaguars games in DC -- now that I have DirecTV, I have Sunday Ticket.

Got it.
I just really roll with the punches when it comes to what the local stations provide to me.
...and it's usuallly spot on - like this week.
I wish I could see the Ravens/Giants game, too, though.

Tebow to the Jags?????
According to ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen, the Jacksonville Jaguars are a "virtual certainty" to acquire current New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow in 2013, via free agency or the trade route. Tebow, who remains a bit player with the Jets after the team bumped Greg McElroy above to starter following the decision to bench Mark Sanchez this week, has reportedly requested that the Jets trade or release him.
Tebow, who is from the Jacksonville area, has been the subject of the franchise's interest for quite some time. In March, Jaguars owner Shad Khan put himself in with the Jets in the derby for Tebow's services, offering a fourth-round pick and $3 million to offset Tebow contract with the Denver Broncos. But Tebow chose the Jets, and that hasn't worked out for him at all.

It'd be freaking sweet if they got him as a free agent and get to keep that number two overall pick.
Would be surreal if he could go back home and take that team to a place it's never been.
On the other hand, we could sure use a halfway decent QB here in AZ.
Michael Vick and Alex Smith are some of the names being thrown out there right now.
But not Tebow.
I'd take any one of those guys.

Please.

Yeah, Arizona should go out of their way to get Alex Smith.

We'll see what happens with Vick. He's not the problem in Philadelphia.

I'm torn on what I'd like to see in tomorrow's Sunday night game.
On the one hand, I want Kaepernick to take the Seahawks to school and seal the fate for Alex Smith - which may bring him to a fresh start in AZ.
..... but on the other, I loved to root against Pete Carroll and his preferred habit of running up the score against his opponents lately. I know, I know, just gotta stop them.

I also hear the Jets may be interested in Vick.

If I was Arizona, I'd draft a QB. They should have a good pick. Kansas will draft a QB, but Jacksonville won't if it ends up being Tebow Time.

Well, winning last week hurt our draft chances.
You got people raving about USC's Matt Barkley and some not so sure.
There's another good qb available that escapes me right now. Gino something or another.
I'd prefer a good veteran free agent. Just not sure which one.

Sweet if you enjoy hype over substance. The guy just isn't a good QB but considering what the Jags are working with he can't hurt.

Anywho I only made it to halftime of the game last night. Not much of a game.
