For the first time in the 20-year history of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, fans will have the opportunity to drive their own cars around the "Magic Mile" on Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as the speedway hosts FANtasy DRIVE, the ultimate open house and fan appreciation day.
In celebrating "20 Years of Motorsports Magic," fans that purchase a ticket to either of the Saturday or Sunday events for the 2010 LENOX Industrial Tools 301 weekend in June, the 2010 SYLVANIA 300 weekend in September, or who have already purchased tickets for these events will experience the 1.058 mile NASCAR oval that stars such as Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. run on twice a year.
Families will enjoy Milo's (the speedway's world famous mascot) Easter Egg Hunt, along with an exclusive "Behind the Scenes" tour that includes visiting Bruton Smith's (Chairman of the Board of New Hampshire Motor Speedway) luxury suite, NASCAR Race Control, the Television Broadcast booths, the Garage Area, and Victory Lane plus camping areas and the scenic landscape of New England's largest sports and entertainment facility.
Dick Berggren, legendary NASCAR on FOX Pit Reporter, and Ken Squier, the most famous voice in NASCAR, will be hosting a question and answer session for the fans. Dick and Ken will be joined by some of the northeast's most colorful drivers from the past and present. Expect some "tall racing tales" during this session!
In addition, fans of all ages will have the opportunity of saying the most famous words in motorsports. The winner of the "Drivers, Start Your Engines" contest will give the command for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100 on Saturday, June 26.
Celebrate in Victory Lane and have your picture taken hoisting the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 trophy over your head!
Got the need for speed? iRacing will have four simulators available for fans to get the true feeling of racing on the speedway. These sims are used by many of the NASCAR teams and drivers for training.
"iRacing is the most modern racing simulation ever created. Every inch of every track is modeled perfectly. For the actual real-world racer, this is your 'at-home' test vehicle," says Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
The Center Garage will be packed with displays featuring teams from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the ACT (American Canadian Tour), the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), COM (Corvettes of Massachusetts), NHKA (New Hampshire Karting Association), the White Chapter of the BMW Club, USCRA (United States Classic Racing Association), the SRA (Sidecar Racers Association), and the LRRS (Loudon Road Race Series). The Street Survival advanced driving program and many of the New Hampshire Motor Speedway sponsors will also be on-hand for this special fan appreciation celebration.
