NHMS Introduces New Mascot

Things have been really busy for me lately. But I'll stick around as much as I can.

Ugh, I hate mascots in racing. It's like trying to take an element of stick and ball sports, and apply it to something completely different.

What's next? Are a burger, fries, and a drink going to run down pit road during cautions? At lap 150 in Talladega, are the cars going to stop and everyone sings "Sweet Home Alabama?"

Good grief! Maybe California should have a mascot, a big Terd!

Lugnut at C.M.S. He tears it up in a convertable Legend car.

I'll never, ever forget the convertible race between Ron Hornaday and Jimmy Spencer during the Summer Series one year. After the race, those 2 clowns stole Lugnut's little car and went tearing off through the grass. Jimmy was driving, Ron was sitting on the back with his legs over Jimmy's shoulders.

Though I would die laughing.

Then, to top it off, they stole the TV guy's little cart. ROTFLMAO

Chicagoland Speedway doesn't have a mascot yet, thank god. But when the track first opened the Blues Brothers were the un-official mascots. They had people dressed up like them, and sold t-shirts with their images on it.

Of course they had to stop that real quick because of trademark issues.
