It sure looks like is, At least thats What Nascar.com's the BUZZ is saying....

Word has it that the NASCAR Winston Cup Most Popular Driver Award voting has become a two-man race between Bill Elliott and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Elliott trailed in the early going in the voting, which is being held online at nascarpopulardriver.com. However, a surge in voting by fans has pushed Elliott into a near-tie with Earnhardt Jr.

Nearly 2,000,000 votes are in, and voting continues until Nov. 17.

I cant wait to find out who wins this thing...
 
May the best errrrrrrr..... most popular driver win. Shouldn't they name that trophy after Bill? How many times has he won it?
 
To answer both those questions, I voted for Bill nearly 1,534,343 times

And yes David Poole said that After Bill retires the Trophy will carry his name on it one way or another. Hes won it 15 times.
