Shouldn't have any trouble finding Regan's car this weekend.

I was looking at Mid-Ohio's website yesterday. I never paid attention to it before but I may have to check this place out in the future. It's only a three hour tow for me and relatively cheap for camping and tickets. If any of you attend this race this weekend, fill us in on some of the details about the track. Where to sit, stay, park, etc.....

Here is a pretty good ride along by Hurley Haywood describing mid Ohio race track, the actual ride along starts about 54 secs into the clip. Narrow tricky track. The road racers in the bunch probably will have a field day. First time for Nationwide to race there

86.2 by Vickers , but it drops like a rock, almost 2 seconds slower in 12th. Ew E, looks like McDowell has a ride this weekend instead of junk. JGR. Dang, another road course expert.

Gibbs is loading the field with McDowell and Owen Kelly, V8 supercar driver that probably raced against Ambrose down under. Ambrose for Petty, A.J. for Penske, Pappas for Childress

Should be a good race...anyone think AJ will go 2 for 2?

I don't know about A.J. or anybody to tell ya the truth, all I know is it is going to be one hell of a race. some guys have raced there before. most of the true blue Nascar guys are driving the track for the first time. I think both of the v8 super car guys are going to be a factor, Owen Kelly driving a Gibbs and Ambrose driving a Petty car. hope they give Ambrose a good piece this week. McDowell is a hell of a road racer and he is in a Gibbs this week, he will be fast too. Throw A.J. and Hornish in there with really good Penske cars, it is going to be the race of the weekend I believe. Oh yeah that knucklehead Klingerman is a wild card, he came in third and 6th at both road courses driving a Busch car. I don't know where he got his experience, it shows he has none.

Agreed, McDowell and Kelly should be factors too, and like you said maybe even Klingerman (don't forget that at Road America where he finished third, the front of his car was destroyed, so he can survive road course carnage as well).

Out of all I named, Ambrose is starting in the back. so hopefully they will keep a camera on him, he has the whole field to pass to get up with the front runners. That is going to be hard to do.

But Ambrose is the best road racer in NASCAR at the moment.

i agree..........race of weekend. hope they got plenty a' wrecker hooks placed round track !

They are predicting over 100,000 race fans to be @ the track today for this race. Maybe the record crowds will send a message to NASCAR about road courses? I'm not saying that we need ten on the schedule but maybe three wouldn't be so bad.

Hornish was consistently fast in all 4 practice sessions. McDowell is right in there as well.

This should be a good race :)

This is weird, Trucks and NNS qualifying at the same time on different channels.

Wow, great job.. McDowell on the pole and A.J. barely missed it 1/100 of a sec. Down under Kelly 3rd with Young Larson in 4th.

It's a great location. Closest Nascar race for people in Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Akron. Large population centers. If you look at a map of where Nascar races that region has been one of the most underserved large population areas. Many millions within a couple hours drive.
