Through the first 1/3 of the season we saw Kyle Busch winning almost every race in the nationwide series, building the lead for the JGR #54 car up to a 54 point lead over the Penske #22 car. With the 22 winning 4 of the past 5 races with 3 different drivers, they have taken the lead over the 54 by 14 points following the race at Mid Ohio.

Which team do you think will take home the owners points championship? Did the 54 peak to soon? The impressve thing I find with the 22 is that they have 3 different winners this season. All the 54's wins have come from Kyle Busch and lately he hasn't been doing as well in the series. I know that the 22 used a couple Kyle free races to get the points closer, but do you think they have what it takes to hold on to that lead for the remainder of the season? I think they can do it... but I'm biased as anyone could be lol... whatta u think?

Well.. that is true.. lol more because of Penske but I probably wouldn't care if Joey wasn't a Penske driver.. It's just something I'm wondering what people think about. Not you though.

It's kinda like what you think of the ARCA owners points race . Nothin ......right?

Ooooookay people.. if u dont wana tell me who you think will win it.... then dont comment in here. Go post in the pre race or somethin..

I say forget about the owners championship. The two teams that are likely going to win it don't deserve it since they're bringing full-time top series drivers into a lower series they don't belong in and are getting an unfair advantage as a result.

Are you still boycotting the Nationwide series?

IMO people shouldnt get owner points is a cup regular is racing...it was very cheap of Penske to load up on cup guys even when Kyle didnt. I really hope the 54 team wins only because of that. Other than that I dont give a damn :p

Kyle is good at Phoenix and he almost always wins when I go there to see him drive. I think that Kyle will get it done but of course thats my completly un-biased opinion :einstein:

26 of the 31 Nationwide races this year have been won by either JGR or Penske. Not exactly a level playing field.
I agree...along with no cup drivers there should be no cup owners...cup drivers that own their "own" team would be fine

I believe JR Motorsports is the only such team to have won in NW this year. Every other win has gone to a Sprint Cup team owner.

Oh NOW you wanna post in the pre race? As opposed to your unnecessary predictions thread

If you stuck to the thread topic we would hardly ever hear from you, hey wait that's a good idea. :)

Owner's (i.e. Team) Championship isn't fair unless all the teams are equal, or at least have the same number of cars.
I will still say congratulations, Captain. You are still not forgiven for being the twenty-year douche at Indy from about '85 until The Split.
13 green peanuts coming your way, you superstitious old bastard.

Ugh the 22 won...at least the 54 had a few non cup drivers...
