* No Free Beer? Miller Lite's plans to celebrate a Rusty Wallace victory in the Daytona 500 by handing out coupons for free six-packs of Miller beer have been foiled at every point so far by Daytona officials. First, they were told it wouldn't be allowed to hand out anything inside the track. Then it was told it couldn't hand out anything on any speedway grounds. And then Miller officials got a letter from the Daytona Beach police warning them not to do anything to impede pedestrian traffic.(Winston Salem Journal), see the initial story and info on the #2 Team News and Links page.(2-14-2003)

I wondered how long bud would let them get away with it.

You'd think the idiots from Miller Light would dot all their i's and cross all their t's before making such an announcment.

Fox News just mentioned the free beer campaign. Guess they're not up to date on things. <_<

I didn't really see it happening anyway.....I figured that someone would have ended it before now, NASCAR, the Daytona City commission, or law enforcement officals.

M-lite forgot that this is a Budweiser commercial...not a race. ;)
Ain't that the truth.

Unless Rusty jumps in a DEI car this sunday he won't win anyway so it is kind of a moot point.

What they should do is make you mail in the stub and they send you the beer coupon after they varify your age and all of that stuff.

Well it isn't going to happen anyway....Rusty is going to the back and will get caught up in the big one. The Coors wagon is going to win and tick off Bud and Miller!

I think it would be a better idea to offer some sort of promotion when you buy their beer or something. Daytona is Budweiser territory, they will not be passing anything Miller out there.
