I figured that out.........spent a number of years in the woods of NW Arkansas. Not particularly good eatin' so I just let them gather up all the acorns and hickory nuts to help keep the foliage in check.

i have good luck most of the time. just not this morring

I hear that all the time about something tasting just like chicken.....why not eat chicken then? Rattlesnake "tastes just like chicken", froglegs "tastes just like chicken" (though I disagree, it doesn't taste like chicken.......it's so much better!!). My taste of "tree rat" sort of reminded me for old stinky shoe leather!!:D Suppose you are going to tell me that poke salad tastes just like spinach........that's not what I'd call the taste though!!:)

Nah, poke salad tastes nothing like chikin hehehe, or spinach.

AND lots don't even have a clue what poke salad is. I think it's nasty and so is squirrel.

Poke salad is a weed that grows wild in the southern part of the US......it's a pretty potent poison if allowed to mature (get purple stalks) and it's slimmy as hell when boiled......tastes like a cross between snot and lawn clippings!! Had several people tell me that I just never had it fixed right........well three attempts at it made it clear there ain't a right way to fix that sh**!!:) Only one attempt at squirrel though.....but with the poke stuff I wasn't gonna try any more!!:D

Bringing up poke salad[which is actually sold in stores here]is a traumatizing childhood memory for me.I hate that @#$%!Give me collard greens anyday!

And believe it or not,Wrangler,it is sold as "Poke Salit"though we always called it Poke SALAD.
