Inside Line has confirmed with supplier sources that production of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo will cease at the end of the 2007 model year. That means the last Monte Carlo will roll off the line sometime this summer. In recent years, the Monte Carlo has been one of General Motors' biggest successes on the NASCAR stock-car racing circuit. But the two-door companion to the Chevrolet Impala sedan has not resonated with the buying public.(Edmunds.com), it was announced in October 2006 that Chevy would be going to the Impala for Car of Tomorrow [COT] races.(3-8-2007)

This has been rumored for some time. My dad heard about it this past summer from someone that works at a local Chevrolet dealership.

This is no surprise....2 door cars...fine when you are single and want to be cool, but more and more people are finding out 2 door vehicles are a pain in the @ss in the ever smaller shrinking parking spots.

Not to mention .... it's butt ugly.

But wait, way back when, when I bought my MC, it was said that they were like butts, in that everyone had one. :D I will say that I like the looks of the Impala better though, plus that name plate goes back to my school years and that is when it was one top dog car. Impala Super Sport, 327 ci with a four barrel carbureator. Those certainly were the days in my generation.
