No Story here......write about something else

While it is a most wondiferous and splendrous thing that fans of NASCAR today can cruise the big blue nowhere and read something about the sport every day of the week, sometimes it all gets to be too much.

Drivers, owners, crew members, officials, hangers on and hangers around. Those ever present and ever mysterious team sources and NASCAR sources. Perhaps just the guy hanging around the soda machine at the corner gas station. Seems every word, every scenario, every move, even no words or actions are reason enough for someone somewhere to pound out 3 or 4 inches(or a few dozen k) of some kind of report.

Reading some blurb Jayski felt compelled to paste up from That's Racin' about Bill Elliott and retirement. Subject of speculation for a few seasons now. Bill Elliott was the subject of the "Dodge This" teleconference this week. He was asked what his plans are. He basciallly said I ain't ready to talk about it. Sould be the end of the story, but it never is.

Bill's exact words:

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE? "Well, let me tell you like this. When I'm ready to talk, I'll talk. When I ain't, I ain't. That's just plain and simple. When it's time, it's time and I'll let you know. When it's not, it's not, and then I'll let you know. I'm almost 50 now. I've given it thought because I'm definitely on the shorter end of the stick."

All drivers as they near 50 consider how much longer they want to run in the show. It is natural. When it ain't time , it ain't time......write about something else and leave the man alone to do his job. Bill had a lot of stuff to say during this conference about a lot of things going on in the sport. His retirement was not one of them.

Here endeth the HS semi regular periodical media rant..............LOL

They're just fishin for the big story about retirement. The media wants these old guys to retire to move younger drivers in.

Younger drivers make better stories. Take Kurt Busch and Jeff Gordon for example.

As usual the media w**** are trying to send the message that they don't want the good ol boys around anymore.

Neckcar is fading fast! Ha ha ha ha
