Have some friends trying to talk me into moving down there from Ohio and I am seriosly considering it. I did a little research on ND and this is what I came up with.

The local tracks in ND are pretty much IMCA sanctioned meaning IMCA mods and street stocks. This could be a shock to my system seems I'm used to Late models and Sprint Cars. Even our E-mods are beefier than IMCA mods, but I guess as long as they get good car counts, and put on a good show, I can adjust. Believe it or not, but if they didn't have any dirt tracks, I would not even consider this move.

Here is a comparison in population stats for the two states.

Ohio ND
Persons per Square Mile 277.3 9.3
Wow that is a huge difference

My biggest concern is Employmeant. I'm told I should not have a hard time finding a job once I get down there, but If I'm going to move to a state and not have a job, I would just assume it be Texas or somplace warm.

Hey Racerx11, where are you in Ohio? I am in NW. Never been to ND, but have heard it is beautiful out there. What do you do now for work? Lokking online for a job in ND before you actually decide to move?

What part of ND are you considering moving too? The Bismark/Mandan area is probably the most heavily populated and would offer the best chance of work. (I'm originally from there so I kinda know what you are looking at) Jamestown is nice too plus they have a kick ass dirt track (we have run there a couple of times and just had a blast)

Not much in ND outside of a few big cities i would think jobs would be scarce, they are here in CO. Springs that is for sure. High tech market is drying up at the moment, HP, Compaq, and some of the other computer companies have really cut back severly. Seems if you are in customer service though the jobs are abundant, so not sure if ND is like that, but i would be a little hesitant to move to a state where farming is the major industry.

I did a study on population growth in geography, seems North Dakota needs people cause they have negative population growth. Seems like a nice enough place though. As for jobs, they're scarce everywhere, I worked for one of those high tech firms that Mopardh9 was talking about in Colorado Springs, I quit on my own though.

Seems without jobs, they keep building too many houses out here.

Yep that is on reason why i am leaving....the houses continue to be built , shopping centers cropping up everywhere, and the traffic sucks ! Nice state Colorado, but i am heading back to New England the end of May, I know there are problems there too, but my roots are there and i love the snow. I know ...i am a sick puppy, but i miss winter....lol
