Alright, y'all said you'd go to North Wilkesboro when it reopened. Now's your chance. :)

On October 3rd, the USARacing Pro Cup Series will be racing at North Wilkesboro in a 250 lap race along with a 100 lap modified race and a 50 lap street stock race.

If the stands are empty when the video highlights go up on Youtube, I will go INSANE!

Are you going to be there Andy?

I'll try to go to The Rock myself, it's closer to me than Wilkesboro is.

We will have a contingent of fans there for sure. Of course many of those fans are modified fans, but some of us love full fendered cars as well. :beerbang: I'll try to get some pictures, but I'm one lousy photographer. If anyone else is going let me know and we can meet up. I had planned on going to the first race there earlier this month, but family business came first and I had to skip that race. But I told the wife that we ARE going Sunday. She smiled and shook her head yes! Yeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssss

What's a real race? If they get ARCA would you go? Or does it have to be Sprint cup?

F1, MotoGP or IRL. Kidding, at least the truck series. I can't get into the other series. If I lived closer it would probably be a different story.

There no chance they will get a top 3 NASCAR race. I think ARCA is about the best they could do. Stuff like ARCA and the NASCAR East and West series have some really great racing going on. People Should give those more of a chance. Great racing, and the price is usually right.

I'll go as soon as they have a real race there.

Add me to the list of people perplexed by this. I guarantee you the Pro Cup series or the late model races will be miles above anything we've seen from the Sprint Cup Series lately.

IF you saw the ads for the USAR race, that was video from the USAR race I went to in 2009. Incredible finish, ain't ever seen anything like it and Cup Series will never have a race/finish like that.

Relax everybody, just me being a dick. I'd go if I could, I would love to see anything there but since I'm broke it won't be anytime soon.

Wouldn't be a surprise to me if North Wilkesboro showed up on the 2011 ARCA schedule but I don't think it'll happen. If it does, I can see a road trip.

Seventeen bucks and free parking. You can't beat that for an afternoon of racing.
Can beat it sometimes. K&N Pro Series East and the Whelen Southern Modified Tour race for $15 at South Boston.

True enough but I can enjoy racing around here too without the 8+ hour drive. I've been there before and I'd go back again for a Cup race but that isn't going to happen. If I lived a reasonable distance from the track, I'd support it for non Cup events.

Been there done that. BTW, most tickets for Southern Modified Racing down this way is either $18 or $20 for the race.

Yeah, that South Boston deal is great. $15 would be a good deal for just the East series or just the modifieds but both is an amazing deal. The crowd wasn't that great either...

They should put a new coat of paint on the walls if they want to bring in some fairly big series.

Once again family matters kept me from going to the track. I've got one more chance this year to make a race. October 31st will have a 300 lap ASA race for the final race of a four day weekend. Saturday will see the most racing with last chance and featured races for Late Model (LM), Limited Late Model (LLM), USST Trucks (USST), Street Stocks (ST), Rolling Thunder Modifieds (RTM), Allison Legacy Series (ALS) plus qualifying for the ASA cars.

For those fans of the Madhouse, the winner of the modified race today was Jason Myers, followed by Junior Miller and then Burt Myers. Only 12 modified showed up but from what I heard, they put on a great show. Maybe next year they can get that track on the Whelen Southern Modified Tour. Might eve get some Yankees to come down for that one.

also heard that about 75% of the front stand was full. I look for that to grow.

Hopefully the Sunoco National Tour(ASA) Race will get more than the 9 or so cars they got at most of their races this year...

I really doubt NASCAR will be coming back, but that would be awesome if they brought the modifieds or maybe the East series. I think the best they could really hope for is ARCA.

For all the work they did to try and cover the Coca Cola and Winston Cup it would have been easier to paint over it.

um, i was quoting the part about the Oct 31 ASA(not USAR) race. The one that did not happen yet.

I realized that after I posted the lineup for the LM race. Don't know how the ASA race will be, but that weekend will have lots of racing, albeit lower class. We'll see how the ASA people will handle this. Seems that some of those that don't race the entire circuit are making their way to NW.

Alright, and actually USAR is not late models. The bodies they changed to back in 2007 look too similar to LMs though. I've heard from drivers that they are much heavier than a late model. I guess they are closer to ARCA or K&N Pro series than Late models.

They're in-between.

Andy, Any word on when the 2011 ARCA Schedule is coming out? I think they announced it at Rockingham last year, didn't they? Will be interesting to see if they add North Wilkesboro or any other new tracks. ARCA is usually pretty good about changing the schedule a lot and keeping it interesting(unlike NASCAR which has almost identical schedules each year...). I kind of doubt they will go to North Wilkesboro though. Gresham would be awesome.

They didn't announce it until Thanksgiving last year.
