Not a good year for Keyshawn Johnson

It has not been a very good last 12 months to be Keyshawn Johnson.

First the wide reciever was inactivated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while they were still trying to make the playoffs. Keyshawn fancies himself some kind of great wide receiver and talks constantly about how great he is. If it weren't for the fact that he is very slow for a wideout and has made virtually no big plays for a guy with his kind of contract, I could understand all the hype. The fact is he is an above average wide receiver with good hands, but slow feet and a huge mouth. The Bucs got very tired of his running his mouth about how great he is and how the Bucs could win more if they just threw him the ball more. So, they just basically cut him halfway through the season as they deemed him more of a distraction than anything.

Then on Wednesday, he got robbed at gunpoint. According to reports he was talking on his cell phone after walking out of a barber shop. He was approached by 2 men who apparently thought he looked like an ATM machine. They pulled out guns and he gave them his cash and jewelry and they left.

Noone was hurt, but this had to be a significantly below average day. Even by Keyshawn standards.

Wonder why he couldn't outrun them. He being so blazingly fast and all.

He oughta just be thankful he got recognized at all.

The saga continues. He's been issued a restraining order for threatening to kill his ex's new beau. Can somebody get this jerk a one way ticket to The Island Of Misfit Toys?

Keyshawn's latest development

Thanks for the link Possum. I guess this is just another example of a guy who has been blessed beyond measure and just keeps screwing it up more and more.

Thing that always happens to these types of Wide Receivers, the guys always want to play Hero is that when in the clutch, they drop the ball. Look at Terrell Owens for example, the only all-star catch I've seen him make to be honest with you is that end-zone catch he made in the 1999 playoffs when the 49ers beat the Packers (greatest Niners comeback, well second to the 35-7 comeback the 49ers staged against the Saints and the Montana to Clark pass otherwise known as 'The Catch' in 1981 but that was way long ago) , since that 1999 playoff game, I've seen him drop passes and stuff like that, yet he blames it on the QB.

Keyshawn's lawyer confirmed that Keyshawn did threaten this guy on multiple occasions, but that the guy is just trying to extort money from him. The guy was dating his wife, but has since stopped at her request. The wife and Keyshawn have been trying to reconcile since he has had so much free time on his hands since being dumped by the Bucs.

I just read that Terrell Owens said on his sight that the only way he would come back to San Fran is if Jeff Garcia is not the QB. He said he needs a quarterback that matches his skills. Apparently he is looking for a QB who drops the snap when the game is on the line ;)

I heard he wants to go to philly, who knows maybe he and McNabb can gel together, personally I think moss is better than him.

He isn't even in Moss' class as far as a reciever goes. He is right up there with Randy Moss in immaturity though. B)

I heard TO say that he wants to go to Philly as well. But I really don't see what difference it makes who is throwing the ball if the guy on the other end doesn't catch it.
