As long as they don't have PTSD or other military stress related idiosyncrasies. Not good to assume qualities of any group of people, I've found.
Worked for years at different Federal government contractor companies, where it is typical to have a Commander on one of your projects call up and say "I'm sending you a guy who is mustering out soon - you need to hire him." So yes he is hired to keep the Commander / project agency happy - no matter whether he has skills we need or not. Some of these guys have been great, others real pieces of work. We had a few who claimed PTSD and somehow couldn't reliably show up for work because of it. Some were fine except they couldn't stand to go onto a military base or see people in military uniform - which was a major problem when your company does government contracts. Then we had a couple (who didn't claim PTSD) who were wildmen - getting into serious arguments easily sometimes ending with them pulling out a weapon. One of them got thrown in jail after he assaulted a couple of high school kids that he accused of driving too slow - smashed their windshield out with a tire iron when they stopped at a traffic light.
Not saying that Vets are all like this - they're not. But have learned to not assume that they're all disciplined or good civilian employees either.
