But my son has let it be known that the 20 something's better get their act together cause he's finding former military to be much better employees than them. Management has his back on this too.

What about 20-something vets?

Do they have the discipline of the military or the entitlement of their JC peers?

Disciplined people work more efficiently. Truly groundbreaking stuff.

I'll ask if any 20 something Vets have applied as I don't know.

As long as they don't have PTSD or other military stress related idiosyncrasies. Not good to assume qualities of any group of people, I've found.

Worked for years at different Federal government contractor companies, where it is typical to have a Commander on one of your projects call up and say "I'm sending you a guy who is mustering out soon - you need to hire him." So yes he is hired to keep the Commander / project agency happy - no matter whether he has skills we need or not. Some of these guys have been great, others real pieces of work. We had a few who claimed PTSD and somehow couldn't reliably show up for work because of it. Some were fine except they couldn't stand to go onto a military base or see people in military uniform - which was a major problem when your company does government contracts. Then we had a couple (who didn't claim PTSD) who were wildmen - getting into serious arguments easily sometimes ending with them pulling out a weapon. One of them got thrown in jail after he assaulted a couple of high school kids that he accused of driving too slow - smashed their windshield out with a tire iron when they stopped at a traffic light.

Not saying that Vets are all like this - they're not. But have learned to not assume that they're all disciplined or good civilian employees either.

Absolutely. Millennials are coddled and indoctrinated in the school system now. It's a hive mentality and a big reason you have these idiots that need safe spaces and their own identifying pronouns. I am appalled at the younger generation. What the hell is wrong with a lot of these special snowflakes?

The parents and/or other adults that coddle them. They certainly don't coddle themselves.

Ok I asked, forgot to reply
2 have applied for the courier position which requires driving a company vehicle. One lost his license due to multiple DUI's/accidents.
The other when hearing of a pre-employment drug test and random tests thereafter said "I'm; outa here''.

It seems having a high school diploma or GED, at least 21 tears old with 3 years of a clean driving record, no criminal record and able to obtain a low level security clearance along with passing random drug tests sets the bar way, way, way too high...

It's not all on the parents. School districts and society as a whole coddles to them.
Right. They're included in the "other adults" group that I mentioned.

I was actually just fishing there, but you weren't the fish I was trying to catch, so I'ma throw you back.
