I don't think how he does against USC will have much to do with it. I think he is probably done anyway.
USC will crush Notre Dame. I don't like either team, but USC is at least 30 points better than ND at this point.
And no, I don't see Notre Dame ever getting back to where it once was. I don't see any team being that dominant anymore. The game has changed a lot. Too many schools now see the financial benefit of having a good football program. And there are too many good athletes anymore for only the top few schools to get all of them.
Notre Dame used to get all of the good catholic athletes. Money and improving your draft status has become more important to those guys than going to a catholic school has.

things are bad right now, really bad. as a fan of the Irish i'm holding my head in shame. I think despite the financial part of it, Weiss will get one more year, if the same results come next year that have in the last 2 then he's done...

They did have a nice bowl win though. It was only the Hawaii Bowl, and the opponent stunk, but a bowl win by 30 points or so is impressive for them.
