Now THIS is Homebuilt!

I hope they film the attempt and the following crash:D

Holy crap! Proof that some people have more time on their hands than they have brain cells. Somebody needs to take out a policy on that guy.

I'm sure you say the same about Wilbur and Orville? That being said, it has too much weight for his engine. Our resident aircraft 'wrench turner' could probably give you a better breakdown...

That thing will fly him directly to the crash site.:D

I've flown a pre war (WWII, the big one that was in all the papers) J-3 Cub. 800 pounds and 40 hp. Neat aircraft but wouldn't do it again.

Many, many years ago, I had a neighbor who loved that aircraft. He told me that he could fly it backwards when the winds were right. Of course he meant that the plane would move backwards in comparable with the ground because he could fly it slower than the winds aloft. Actually, that is a very good plane. You probably only need about six feet of runway to take off. :)

J-3

Neat ol' aircraft. Flew it in Fla. With the heat off the runway it took forever to get up, landing the same way. It was like coasting downhill.
12 gallons of gas right over your head. Look down and cars on 95 were going faster.
Best aircraft ever was a 1929 Stearman Bi-plane, a WWII Navy trainer. Upgraded and fully aerobatic. Never took it solo but learned all the manuvers. Still got my leather skull cap, googles and scarf.
No longer hold my license, not only was it expensive (seems all my hobbys are:)) but after the heart attck probaly couldn't pass the physical.
I do miss it.
