Kudos to Monster Energy Drink!!
Good, none of this "we're a family company" bullsh!t.
A monster does run the nflCan Monster also please sponsor the NFL?
But wait, I thought we wanted less engineering, not more engineering??? Are you sure you want Nascar to be like F1? I don't want that.I like the ''have at 'em'' attitude and the Monster girls.... maybe they can convince Brian to loosen up the IROC type rules they have employed and give more leiniency to the teams to be more innovative.....i.e. shocks... adjustable spoilers .... rear end gears and the like...

How does that jive with opening up the rules on car specifications? More degrees of freedom in how the cars are built and set up inevitably means greater engineering content.I do, I do. I want less engineers for sure.

Engineers........ smidgineers!!!! I don't care what you call them..... I want innovators....... more lax rules to allow innovativness......But wait, I thought we wanted less engineering, not more engineering??? Are you sure you want Nascar to be like F1? I don't want that.
If your local short track represented the pinnacle of racing for North America, and had $250 million in purses and points funds, plus nearly $1 billion in sponsorship at stake, it would change the dynamics quite a bit at your local short track. My local short track puts on some good racing without engineers and the drivers have a decent degree of latitude so it can be done but I am afraid that ship sailed long ago in Nascar.

I like the way you think ....but Brain will never complyIt's about time they let the drivers show their emotions again without being handcuffed and threatened with point reductions for fighting and swearing..... I mentioned on another thread that Kyle was acting his normal self and childish... But... I like the fact that they can show their a$$ without getting fined points... Being under the constraints of having to be politically correct in every way or get fined by Nascar has made the series watered down and vanilla.... Maybe Monster is gonna' be good for the series..... I actually think this was one of the main reasons Nascar has lost interest with it's fan base. It's too much IROC..... They have legislated themselves right out of being interesting.... I know I used to enjoy the hell out of waiting to see who got caught by Dick Beatty or Gary Nelson for trying to circumvent the rules... playing on a gray area...... wondering how a team could be so dominant for a few races.... I think it was Rusty Wallaces team that came up with the no rebound shocks.... sucked down to the track and they had to wait before going through ride height inspection..... just really neat stuff that made it interesting.... front steer... rear camber..... remember when everyone went hog wild on rear camber and they broke the axles right and left? Let 'em try stuff!!!!!! The best innovator wins the race....... To hell with being hog tied by a 1000 page rule book...... set a basic set of rules and let 'em race......I like the way you think ....but Brain will never comply

Thanks....... that's the best reason that I can come up with why I have lost so much of the zeal for the sport that I used to endear and planned my weekends around...Dude you nailed it!
I know what you mean, I used to go to Vegas every March, haven't been now since 2007. It has lost it's appeal, I'll still watch it here and there, but long gone are the days where I'm glued to the tv on a Sunday afternoon watching the entire race. Which is kind of a good thing because now I go to more local racing around here in New England which is a hell of a lot better than the National scene.Thanks....... that's the best reason that I can come up with why I have lost so much of the zeal for the sport that I used to endear and planned my weekends around...
Now.... not so much.......
