Most interesting is the champ odds.....still got Sterling at 2 to 1 but next is Matt at 4 to 1....

Wonder if they know something we don't.

I like Jeff Gordon's odds but I would have to put some money down Nadeau this weekend. He does very well on the cookie-cutter 1.5 mile tracks and also wants to prove that he can win races and that Atlanta (Fall 2000) was not a fluck.

Nadeau has usually done well at Lowe's so I'm not surprised to see him near the top, but the being the fastest did surprise me. Through half of qualifying he is still #1, I wonder what finishing up in the morning will do to the order, I just hope Nadeau stays in the top 10 and can avoid the wrecks at the beginning.

Michael could win it... but he's probably to dejected from last week.

He could only win the championship if all the races were at Dega and Daytona and they gave a half decent pit crew.

Hey, I'd go for that. But that would mean I'd have to deal with Jr. thinking he's god every weekend....

What? No, I didn't say that. Little innocent me. :)

You know that you brought up Jr. this thread will be torn to shreds and then blocked..

If newman gets a top 5, he has 15 of them, and that will basically sure up his rookie of the year. I don't think there is anyway Johnson can get 15 top 5s.

He could do more than steal this race, he could steal this championship away. When he's not blowing motors, he's ALWAYS out front. That's real consistency.

And yes, indeed, Michigan does suck!

We got them beat. I've felt it all season. Penn State 38, Michigan 30.

All the blown motors happened in the beginning of the season. I think they have already struggled through the hardships and have found the right chemistry for not only the crew but the cars and they know exactly what is going on and they know exactly what to do with a car. It's hard to find a time who can gel like this midseason. I hope Newman stays up next year as well, whether he wins the championship or not this year.

That doesn't bother me. I guess I just like all of the young talent compared to all the old guys. If Newman doesn't win the points I hope he beats Rusty.

I have nothing against Rusty. But Rusty's probably scratching his head on how Newman is running so much better than him. I think those blown motors might not have been so much of an accident. The reason why they aren't blowing motors anymore is b/c they are keeping a better eye on Rusty. lol.

I agree with you, RPM, to an extent. But I think they are much like Johnson and Gordon. We see Gordon running conservative setups and Johnson being a little more risky. I bet Wallace and Newman are doing the same thing. The #12 team stopped taking too many risks and blowing engines and found a happy medium that works very well for them.

Yeah, I've been talking about the conservative set-ups on Gordon's car for awhile now, I think it's the same for team Penske. Rookie team has nothing to lose but to try new set-up, old teams are trying to use tried-and-true set-ups.

I think we agree that we agree. Care to disagree?

Dang I should have put some money on McMuarry. It would have been a nice payday at 38-1. Oh-well.
