Off Track Talk in the Media

With some of the comments being made to the media by Keselowski (not that he's the first), it leads me to wonder how much of what drivers say off the track carries over to how they get raced on the track?

It seems as though on track happenings can easily be bushed off as a "racin' deal" but words to the media are there forever and sometimes sting.

Sure they do. Denny trashed RCR in 2010, and Harvick gave him trouble on the track. Brad said he races guys he doesn't like differently. I've seen a lot of drivers do it. I don't think Brads poorly timed comments rise to the level where even AJ will race him different.

Harvick gave Hamlin trouble on the track because they were racing for a championship. They both raced each other like a dick. And then there was Homestead, when Hamlin's teammate chop blocked Harvick so many times that Harvick finally decided to park him.

As for Brad and AJ, AJ has to be able to catch Brad in order to race him differently.

no Andy, that's not how it went. Bowyer beat Hamlin at Loudon, then the 33 got penalized for car height. Denny basically called RCR crooked, and Richard called Denny a skunk. At Dover, Harvick rammed Denny during practice over the whole thing. It had NOTHING to do with running for a championship. Intentionally wrecking your car during practice never does.

Come on man. I know you hate Harvick, but don't rewrite history. Rammed? Both drivers dicked around in that incident.

No matter how you see it Andy, that incident wasn't about the championship.

No he doesn't . All he has to do is wait for Keselowski to come around to lap him.

Yep. He sure didn't have much for Montoya either.

Funny how KH doesn't do much until the officials arrive.

That was a pathetic attempt at a fight. It looked like a slap and tickle fest. Both should've been fined for actions detramental to stock car racing, and they wonder why ratings are down.......

If you can't take off your helmet and throw down in that situation, it will never happen. Thank you nascar for making our sport so proper.

There hasnt been a black eye or even a bruise among the nascar teams (fans in the infield and campgrounds and sometimes even in the stands dont count) that I know of since the early 80s. Damn shame too, some of them need it but which ones is one of the great ongoing debates on here which will continue forever.
