Just wondering if The Rick hasn't waited too long. Giving up the Yates deal (tho I'm not sure he has yet) might be the beginning of the end for him. After DEI, Rousch, Hendricks, RCR, Gibbs, & Evernham it's backmarker heaven.

His championship hopes may have just flown out the window.

He shot himself in the foot. Trying to screw Yates out of a year on the contract.

....and then he goes in and gets in an arguement with Chip about the Watkins Glen/ Spencer deal. Like it's said around the local shorties....

"He's just the guy we let drive the car"

There just ain't none of them THAT special.

That was just Rudd looking for anything to complain to Chip about.

Making a deal with Rudd would have killed Chip. There would have been no way to pay Rudd what he wanted if and when Sterling takes the Cup.

Rudd is up the river with no paddle now.

Ricky isn't gonna suffer much if he should retire.......I do wonder if maybe he's thinking of getting back into the team ownership thing. He dern sure doesn't act like he really wants to work as a driver but he is talking to a lot of people......don't understand his strategy but, surely he has something in mind.

Lol...you don't actually believe Rudd's "I've got 6 or 7 deals that I'm talking about" do ya?

A bluff or true statement........what's the strategy? I've always had the impression that Rudd isn't exactly a dummy so I figure he has a plan........I could be wrong about the dummy thing though!!:)
