My OP was the old drivers lineup for FOX. But these old intro's are giving me mad chills of the good ol' times. Before all the fluff. :cheers:

Wow, almost forgot about that one! It gave me chills, especially thinking about that 'hum' the cars used to make in that gen4 era with the exhausts on the left side of the car.

Some great classic CBS right there, Andy. I wonder why they never made a major bid on NASCAR? Did they? I'm a bit unknowlegable in that department.

A bit off topic, but CBS still has my favorite College Football theme song. They have been rolling with this one for years. CBS's coverage of CFB very good still, though they just have SEC games, still much better than ESPN.




Anyway, back to NASCAR :)
 
I always thought that CBS should've retained the Speedweeks and Coke Zero 400 rights even if they broadcast no other race during the season. There was something magical about Daytona on CBS.

Love the First theme FOX used, also liked NBC/TNT using "Fuel" , and also liked "Born To Be Wild" TNT in 2007 .

I liked the closing theme music TBS used for the 1997 Suzuka race and at Motegi in 1998
, it was the theme that was in the movie Rudy, done by Jerry Goldsmith
I can not recall if they used that song for any other races

FOX used the theme for Rudy for the Daytona 500 and the Coca-Cola 600.



Every time I see Dale Earnhardt on there, I cry. :(
 
CBS could never take either half of the season because of March Madness in the spring and the NFL in the fall. I suppose they could have tried at the TNT mid summer package, but they didn't seem interested in that.

I was hoping CBS and TNT or ESPN would take over FOX's package.

FOX and NBC are the only networks interested in covering NASCAR. And those are the networks that are airing NASCAR.
