quit with the "does _____ care anymore?" threads.

It was fun for a while, but now it's getting old and cluttering up the board.
The 3 current ones may run, but no more.
Besides, it makes us look a little ridiculous to outsiders.

I don't mind legitimate discussion about particular drivers, but keep it real.

Maybe the X Driver Doesn't Care threads need to simply be renamed to just the drivers name? I only say this because if one of those drivers that doesn't care wins a race, I might be libel to create a X Driver Does Care thread. :D

It's sad that fans would think for a minute , that even the 30th or 35th place driver isn't trying his very best to get the very best finish he can for his owner , his sponsor , his crew , and himself . Every professional wants the very best finish that he can get . It comes with choosing sport as a career . Todays culture that calls everyone who didn't finish first , a loser , is really disgusting . You hear it all the time that second is the first loser . It used to be cute , maybe , but it has become degrading and insulting . I like all of the drivers out there and I hate to hear them and the sport degraded and insulted.

LOL Start and Parks.

You feel it insulting and disgusting that some people make fun of that fact they call second place first loser? Its a form of expression.

It starts at the top with NASCAR.

They're the ones allowing start and parks. That in itself its pretty degrading to the sport. This is supposed to be the toughest series to race so when you see people taking advantage of that and NASCAR actually allows it, then it becomes a runnnig joke.

I haven't seen any S and P teams this year --- or have I missed some? Or maybe they are not as blatant as in the past.
Just what I was thinking. Definitely not as noticeable this year, if it's happening.

Thanks for ending all that foolishness.
I am glad I didnt contribute to the silliness myself.
Hopefully they learned something and have a grown up as result.

:)

I don't understand why so many people get upset about S&P programs. Teams that had to do that in their early years like Germain Racing and JTG Daugherty Racing are fairly competitive now. No one does it to get rich. Teams that were notorious for doing it last year like Phil Parsons Racing and Leavine Family Racing don't even do it anymore.

You pacifists, man. I tell ya..

I think it cheapens the sport. Sure it's less competition but still, you want to see everyone out there giving it their all as a viewer and when you see drivers pull out and back in you're like the hell with this guy.

But like it was mentioned aboved. Not many teams do it now, thankfully.

With the possible exception of Dave Blaney @ Darlington and Morgan Shepherd @ Phoenix the era of the S&P may be over..... for now. Personally I don't think it's made a bit of difference on what I see on the track. It's just one less thing to bitch about on the boards for some. I never really comprehended the issue that many had with them anyhow. If there were enough teams with the funds and equipment to fill the field with cars capable of competing at their highest level each week, they would have been there. The were simply teams coming to the track each week trying to make a living, gaining the income to put in a full effort at a future event. Not a damn thing wrong with that IMO.

Oh I forgot, some may want to throw Dale Earnhardt Jr. @ Texas in that list.

I have no idea how he could take my comments to the 'start and park' argument .

Yeah, those type of threads are pretty much played so I encourage anyone who is interested to fire off an Op-Ed thread.

It was relevant enough to bring that up as an example to your "everyone, even the 35th place car" is trying hard comment.

Start and parks dont much care for competing against the field at least.

Thought it was a clear reference.

Wait wait wait. Is this line being drawn with a sharpie or a pencil? :D

LOL at anyone posting on a thread about posting threads. You guys need a life!! ( uhoh I'm posting, Dang) NM!!
