Of course Pocono will be a repeat of Indy...but lets have a little fun with it before the race actually happens.

Let's have your "Dream Race" at Pocono.

I'll start it out with mine:

Lead changes are at an an all-time high today at Pocono...this race is coming down to the wire:

"Six laps to go - oh my gracious Tony Stewart was loose on that last lap and that might keep him from going around Jimmy Johnson for the lead...but wait...he is right back on him and is trying to pass on the outside...JJ tries to block but Tony catches his right rear...JJ is spinning in the infield and barely avoids the wall."

Last restart: "Smoke has Keselowski going into turn one...he is stretching it out now...Tony Stewart for the win at Pocono"....Dale Jr. comes in third and Clint Boyer gets fourth...amazingly, Kenny Schrader gets the fifth position due to pit strategy.

Next

A nice 3 or 4 car battle for the last 10 laps would be cool, but that is too much to ask.

Welcome back to Pocono where the racing has been hot and heavy all afternoon. Thanks to the NASCAR tech inspector who removed the right front fenders in pre race inspections, and Brian France marketing decision to put Goodyear stickers over the Hoosier logos on the tires.

And of course Jeff Gordon wins the race.:)

3 laps to go, and Tony and Kyle are batteling for the lead. A potato chip bag blows across the start finish line, and the Yellow comes out. Brian France is shown brushing chip crumbs off of his tie.

They line up for a GWC, and Newman dive bombs Tony, putting Kyle 3 wide. Kyle pinches down, putting Newman on the grass, and all 3 cars spin. Yellow comes out.

They line up for a 2nd GWC, with Gordon leading and Jr to his outside. The flag waves, and Gordon gets loose going into turn 1. Jeff slides up into Jr and pops his tire. Keselowski bumps Jr down into JJ and Kasey, taking them out of the race and grabs the lead for himself. Yellow comes out.

They line up for a 3rd GWC, and it starts raining. Brad wins and is labeled a dirty driver who took out Jr, and a riot starts. Brad jumps on an ATV and runs right through the Jr nation gauntlet. He's last seen heading for the hills of Pennsylvania, where he opens the highly successful Checkered Past horse farm.

No way in heck this all happens. Keselowski hates horses. :D

Here's my hypothetical scenario: A snoozy set of long green flag runs with minimal passing with the race winner doing it on fuel mileage.

Does anyone know the over/under on pit road speeding penalty's this weekend?

I'll go eleven. Far short of the twenty two the last time here.

Nailed that.

So instead of subjecting you guys to my whining and crying about it, I think I'll make other plans for Sunday afternoon.

They'll actually pay attention to the maps this time where they will continue to be allowed to speed on pit road as long as they slow down at the loops.

I sat out watching last weekends race but I'll be watching Pocono. I'm one of the few that likes this track. I'm not saying that we need to be there twice but I do like the track.

I used to smoke that stuff but it gave me the munchies.

I haven't enjoyed it as much since they changed the gear rules. Some of the races can be snoozy but there have been plenty of Pocono races that have come down to the wire.

The spring race here really wasn't all that bad. People may choose not to remember it that way but for the most part everyone that bothered to rate the race rated it pretty well.

Would've been better if Mark won. But that race was better than most this year for sure. It was a decent race and, sadly, one of the best races all year.

Kasey leads every lap lapping the field multiple times.

A top 10 car can win provided they have track position. I just hope that it's not a fuel mileage event. Unless my guy wins then I will deem it a great race. :D

I will be watching the race because I don't know who is going to win or how he is going to do it . In spite of the fact that the lead car may be out in front of the field , I will be focused on my race picks back in 15th ,16th and 17th , who (no doubt ) will be beatin on each other ..trying to take each other out . I will be having a great time watching my favourite sport on TV .

You sir, are a real trooper.

My ideal scenario: Jeff Gordon and another driver are coming off of turn 3 side by side on the final lap. Jeff nearly clears the other driver, but the other driver clips the rear of Jeff's car and Jeff spins. Jeff wins the race by .001/second while crossing the start/finish line backwards. He manages not to wreck or hit anything, and celebrates the most exciting win of his career. He goes on to win the 2012 championship after winning 3 more races in the season.

Just done with the posting. Some things I can not do at work, or at least publish.

Oh come on that would never happen. You know if Tony sees a potato chip bag he's going after it.

My "dream race" at Pocono is one where a race was supposed to happen at Pocono is replaced by a race at another track so we wouldnt have to sit through 2 awful/boring Pocono races every year.

My dream race is when they reconfigure each of these larger than one mile tracks and reconfigure them in to half mile ovals. :)

Isn't there already a series that runs entirely on half mile ovals ? Why would the Cup series do that ? Who would watch that anyway ?

MY dream race at Pocono is the one and only one Pocono race in either June or August. Take your pick. I don't want to see any tracks removed from the schedule. I'd just like to see all of the current tracks only be on the schedule once. Add some new tracks to the schedule and bring some of the old tracks back if they're still able to support a race. It'll never happen but I can dream.
