MLB has to save itself somehow. Did you hear them say they were going to do ... nothing about it?
Kick all of them out of Hall of Fame running. Bonds still deserves an * with Hank Aaron as the legit HR KING!
Actually, baseball players have been prohibited from usually steroids since 1971 under the drug policy prohibiting the use of any prescription medication without a valid prescription....and....steroids were specifically included in Vincent's 1991 policy on drug use by players.Kicking them out of the Hall of Fame would be a disgrace to baseball. It doesnt need another hard blow to the sport.
These guys are professionals and adults. The way I see it, using performance enhancement drugs to improve your game is a personal choice for them.
Should the teams those players played on also have an asterisk? This report did nothing but open up a huge can of worms. Everyone has been wanting an asterisk behind Bond's name for homeruns, but if they do that, they can't stop there and again, how about the teams? How about the league?None of the players that used the drugs should be admitted into the Hall Of Fame and I personally believe that any record that was set by them should be erased or at the least an asterisk stating it was obtained while using performance drugs.
Amen!!! Not many remember for example the adversity that Maris played under with the fans when he was in a battle with Mantle in pursuit of Babe Ruth's home run record. They were 2 great ballplayers.I don't know if excluding these guys from the Hall is the solution, possibly creating a seperate category all together would work...i don't know. It makes you appreciate achievements of the non-cheaters all that much more. I hope Baseball can overcome this problem somehow and be the game we all used to love.
