Napa 500. How would you rate it? I give an eight and a half even with the rain delay and rain shortened race. Exciting once the race got to half way and every driver and team knowing the race could end any minute.......Tony climbing back from a 32nd restart after the red flag. JJ spinning twice, moving Mark up to 2nd in the points. Tony extended his lead. And, did you see Jr's run? And it wasn't even a restrictor plate race!!:D Would have rated at least one more smilie had it gone the distance!!:)

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) and a half!!

:) :) First 26 laps

   Next 2 hours

:D :D :D remainder of race

 finish (I hate rain shortened)

That equals 5 from me!

I'll go with an

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

there was some good racing going on in the back! Dale Jarret ran a good race & was never really on TV.

I really liked Tony's shot on Robbie. Robbie seams to think he's suppose to rub tony & Jr when he gets near them.

Was it luck that Jimmy spun twice & didn't wreck? I'm happy he didn't.

I thought Kurt drove a good race along with Joe & Jarret

Next week will be another good race .
Then it's to two follow the leader tracks to end the season.

I give this one...

:booya: :booya: :booya: :booya: :booya: :booya:

...six air-humpin' Smiley Guys. Rain sucks, as do finishes-under-caution. And if you win in a finsh-under-caution, you give up the right to do celebratory burnouts. I know, that stuff can't be controlled. Well, maybe the unearned burnouts can.

8 :D 's

Lot's of intrigue. Lot's of side by side. Tony's run.

A win is a win and it's ALWAYS earned. The race came to it's natural conclusion. Kurt won.

Much better than the manufactured finishes nascar produces due to wrecks in the closing laps. If a race ends under caution, that's racin. If you want a show, try Broadway.

Yeah, a win is a win is a win, certainly.

But to me, the anticlimactic nature of putting to the line behind the pace car doesn't demand the same kind of ultra-jubilant celebration as a super-close door-to-door finish. It's kinda like those NFL dorks who jump around like lunatics after making a routine tackle. :hyper: If you made a huge game-breaking sack, fine. Go nuts. But don't act like you just won the Super Bowl after taking down a guy who's already gained a few yards.

Bah, what am I saying? Who cares. Burn out, don't burn out. I'm tired. And hungry.

McB I think I can relate to what you are saying. I hate to see the burn outs......even if they are "justified". I don't like the jumping around in football either.....if you win or tackle the quarterback deep in his territory, all you did was do your job. I say go to victory lane and collect your reward.......the trophy.!!:) An exhibition like the "Polish victory lap" for a fallen racer or a lap in tribute to fellow citizens in a tragidy.......fine. But to just rejoice because you "did your job"......I agree with you 100%:)

Good race. I saw every lap thanks to the timely rain delay, or else I would have missed all of it. I'd give it a 7, just because Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks and the fact that it was rain-shortened and there wasn't a lot of lead changes.

I'll give it 7:) . Another bad race for my main man Bill Elliott, but Some pretty good racing even with the rain delays. Not bad all around, nice to see the #25 up front for a change, and a good run for the 45 as well...

Hmm, I'd hate to see any kind of policing over victory celebrations. Remeber when the NFL tried to police end-zone celebrations? No Fun League.

These guys are pumped. I highly dounbt if you had just won a few million bucks, you would simply walk to the checkout line and collect your money.

I see nothing wrong with doing a couple donuts. Doesn't hurt anyone and it let's off a little steam.

I would give it 8 :) . Guys coming from the back after bad pit stops or problems and then finishing up the race in the top is always fun to watch. The race ending early wasn't much fun, but when is it. Side by side racing, lead changes, and Tony's remarks about Robbie all made for a good race.

Wasn't a bad race. Lots of good side-by-side racing and almost had a different winner. Rain being plagued by rain was the major downer. I'd give it a 7.

lol some of you dont give lower then a 8 every race

Ill give it a 4 because I despise rain shortened races.

I'll give it a :) :) :) :) :) because of the rain delay. I don't see whats wrong with doing burnouts after the race, If you win you have earned the right to celebrate.

Nothing wrong with it, college football still enforces "excessive celebration" penalty. No one has any idea what an excessive celebration is so they just throw a flag randomly. I have no problem with what the NFL guys do or the drivers. They are excited, let them have a little fun, besides its fun for the fans to see.

Hey there ya'll,

I give it an 8 also, anything as long as Tony holds onto the points lead.

:waver:

I'll give it a 5 just for it being Atlanta. I love that track! It is still a place to race that you can actually pass on. Many different lines. Then 5 for DJ finishing in the top 5. And then a -3 for the rain.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
