that wasnt even the tap root. That's the yellow thing underneath the foundation of the shop :eek:

What we yanked was the above ground hunk (first pull) and one of the horizontal roots (which also went under the shop, but was a little easier to persuade out)

We did the first yank 2 weeks ago...I dug the hole around it in the while since and that helped get it out. The hole is 4 feet across (more than I can straddle) and 15 inches deep. Runs from where you can see it to underneath the pick's handle. What made it so hard was the base that i couldnt wrap my arms around, that 4 foot root, and it's proximity to the foundation that basically made me only be able to get to 2.5 sides of it. You can see it sticking out from the pillar.

Think i had some wheel spin? I was using a 1/2 throttle powerbrake preload before unleashing it.
