One less driver at PE

Former Formula One and CART star Christian Fittipaldi has been released from his contract with Petty Enterprises. Fittipaldi was supposed to drive a Petty entry in the ARCA and Busch series this season but sponsorship dried up and the team has been disbanded

I was a big supporter of CF last year when he got into the 43 car but I was even a bigger supporter when we stoped driving the car. I hope CF the best of luck in whatever he does next.

One bad thing is I think that might be the opening for Shane Hemil at PE!!! I would MUCH rather have CF than Shane!!!!
 
Based strictly on what I saw in the ARCA race Shane isn't ready for the Cup. Man, was he dangerous!
 
Hmiel was competitive in Busch, a few years ago Fittipaldi and he were teammates for a few races and Fittipaldi wrecked out in every race.
 
Hmiel is the biggest hazard on the race track. Fittipaldi just always took himself out. Hmiel makes sure to take others with him.
 
I wonder how he was able to run in the top ten in points until his suspension last year than?
 
Yeah, I know it is amazing isn't it? Hmiel is the biggest overrated driver.
 
I never said CF was a better driver than SHane!

I just have NEVER liked Shanes attitude, plus the drug thing kinda added to me not liking him.

CF is a very nice guy! He was a pretty good open wheel driver, so I hope he can find a IRL ride.
 
But wouldn't you rather have a dislikeable guy in the seat who could do decent than a nice guy who'll never do anything? Plus, what if they're able to get Steve Hmiel as part of the deal?
 
Christian Fitipauldi is a nice guy. So is Johnny Benson. But that doesn't make them good drivers of stock cars. Heck, I think Kurt Busch is anything but a nice guy............but he is a good stock car driver. I wish the best for Christian.........but it appears he isn't cut out to be a NASCAR Nextel Cup driver. It may be that I'm wrong since the only real test of his abilities have been on a team that is way down there on my list as top notch in the world of NASCAR's top series. It would be nice to see if he might do better with an owner that is more competitive in this series.

I like Christian..............and loved to watch his dad race!!

No I would not mind if Steve came aboard but I just have never liked shane. From the first time he started racing in the NBS. Shane is a good driver in occasions but must of the time he leaves the track with a torn uo car ir he tore someone eles car(s) up.


I agree that if CF did join a team like Penske or Hendricks he would do better. The same would happen if another driver from a struggling team such as Raines!
 
Hmeil isnt too bad but he;s definetly not ready for cup. when i saw him at milwaukee he took Hornaday out of the race and he makes alot of really dangerous moves on the track. if he clams down he could make something out of himself.
