So much has been said already by the Stricklands, Taylors, and Stones about the last lap crash Sat. night, but I have another opinion . Joey was running hard trying to protect his lead, and David was running equally hard trying to get the win. Don't know if Joey even knew who was directly behind him , but he could hear the roar of someone's engine right behind him. It appeared to me that Joey drove deeper into turn 3 than he had been all night, and had to get out of the gas. David did not expect him to back off like that, and hit him before he had time to react . Don't think anything was intentional by David, nor do I think Joey was blocking , as someone else has said. This is just my opinion, but I think it was an unfortunate incident caused by the overwhelming desire to win by both drivers .
The saddest part of all this feuding is the fact that Donnie Satterfield has been caught up in someone else's wrecks 2 or 3 times in recent weeks. Donnie had taken over the point lead and was involved in somebody's trouble the night he drove the Sandman's car to a 2nd place finish, but he did not get any points since he had started the main in his car. These feuds probably cost Donnie the championship, but he (nor his fans) have NOT ONCE complained on these boards about the bad luck that has come his way. I for one, think that Donnie has shown some real class by accepting the problems he's had so graciously.
Hope I haven't offended anyone , this is just my thoughts on what happened last week. Now that it's down to the last race, everyone go out there and have fun and be safe.
Thanks to all the drivers in all classes for the good shows you've put on for the fans this year. Good Luck everyone.
