O'Quinn signed to part-time ride
Busch Series rookie of the year Danny O'Quinn has landed a part-time ride with Mac Hill Motorports, the team announced Wednesday.
O'Quinn, who won the rookie title last year for Roush Racing, will make his first appearance in the No. 56 Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 24 in the Sharpie Mini 300.
O'Quinn was left without a full-time ride this year when Roush was unable to find sponsorship for him. He does have two Busch races scheduled this year in the No. 17 Ford for what is known now as Roush Fenway Racing.
"I'm very grateful that Roush Fenway would give him permission to drive our car," Mac Hill owner Jack McNelly said in a statement. "We consider that a compliment from such a respected organization.
"He fits our organization like a glove. He's just a fine young man with exceptional talent who just wants to race."
