Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA and Scotland County Speedway have announced the tonight's running of the 2005 Thunder Tour has been postponed due to weather. Heavy rains on Friday coupled with continued ran this morning forced the tough decision to be made.
"The weather decided not to cooperate with us this weekend so we'll load up and do it again next week at Midway Speedway," commented Harriett Chancellor when reached en route to Memphis.
The 2005 Thunder Tour kicks back into action next Saturday night, August 20, as they make their second trip of the season to Midway Speedway in Lebanon, MO. Current points leader Al Purkey picked up the win when the series made their first trip to the track on June 25. Behind him a whole host of drivers will be looking to keep the Coffeyville, KS racer from making a clean sweep including Alan Vaughn, David Turner, Jason Bodenhamer, CJ Lyle, and a whole host of local competitors.
