Officials with the O'Reilly MLRA released that the rescheduled date for the 2006 Thunder Tour stop at Lake Ozark Speedway will be July 8.
The event, paying $3,000 to the winner, pits the O'Reilly MLRA versus the drivers of the Mid-America Racing Series (MARS) for 40 laps on the 1/3 mile oval in Eldon. On June 17 there were over thirty cars signed in and officials were set to begin hot laps when the skies opened up and put a halt to the evening. "It's great that we were able to work out a new date and to do it so quickly," stated O'Reilly MLRA promoter Harriett Chancellor. "We're really looking forward to heading back to Lake Ozark Speedway and putting on a great show for the fans."
Lake Ozark Speedway will see the pits gates roll open at 4:00 pm with grandstand gates opening at 5:00 pm. Hot laps will take to the track at 6:30 pm with racing set to start at 7:00 pm. Adult admission is only $16.00 with children 12 and younger free. Pit passes will be available for $30.00 for the night. Modifieds, Fastrak Late Models, and Street Stocks will also see action on the 1/3 mile Ozark clay during the evening. Lake Ozark Speedway is located off of Highway 54 at the Highway 52 exit in Eldon, Missouri. The track is located at the end of the frontage road on the south side of Highway 54.
