The coming weekend will be a busy one for the O'Reilly MLRA as they make a swing into the Ozark region of Missouri with stops at Midway Speedway in Lebanon, MO on Friday, and Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO on Saturday night.
Friday, June 16, the racing weekend gets kicked off with a big $3,000 to win show at the always competitive Midway Speedway. During the initial visits in 2005 the O'Reilly MLRA feature wins at Midway Speedway were taken by the two most recent champions - Al Purkey and Alan Vaughn. Those two will have to be considered as possible front runners, but a whole host of other drivers will be nipping at their heels looking to take home the $3,000 for themselves. Among other drivers expected to be on hand are Mike Brown and Charlie Randolph from Oklahoma and who can count out such drivers as Brett LaFollette, CJ Lyle, Johnny Bone, Chris Smyser and the contingent of local drivers looking to take out the traveling shoes. Terry Phillips and Billy Frye and have thrown their name into the hat as they both plan to compete on the Midway Speedway 3/8th dirt for the first time.
Saturday, June 17, will see a short drive to the north as the O'Reilly MLRA visits Lake Ozark Speedway for the first time ever in the MARS/MLRA Challenge event. A strong field of O'Reilly MLRA regulars will be on hand to attempt to keep the challenge victory at home in Missouri. Look for MARS regulars like Terry Phillips, Billy Frye, Jeff Floyd, Jeff Taylor, and a whole host of others to be on hand battling every lap for the win.
