The O'Reilly MLRA 2005 Thunder Tour will roll into Midway Speedway on Saturday, August 20, for round twenty of the title fight for 2005.
Coffeyville, KS resident Al Purkey comes into the event holding down the point in the standings and is looking to make a clean sweep of the season after his win on June 25 at Midway Speedway. Hot on the heels of Purkey is 4-Time O'Reilly MLRA champion Alan Vaughn who is currently second in points and has two wins on the season. Behind that front pair is the 15T of David Turner who has used a win and consistent finishes to climb to only 51 points behind Vaughn. Other O'Reilly MLRA drivers including Jason Bodenhamer, CJ Lyle, Brett LaFollette, and David Barker are hoping to slow down Purkey and take home the victory as they compete against a tough contingent of local drivers.
Gates open Saturday night at 5:00 pm with racing action slated to get underway at 7:30 pm with Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Bombers also on the card.
Ticket prices are set at $13.00 for adults, $4.00 for youth 11-15 while 10 and under are free. Pit Passes for the event are $25.00.
