Unbelievable. One of the couriers presented my son with a Doc's note saying he'll be out for at least 2 and possibly longer due to job related stress.
STRESS!!!???? The job, show up at 8 am, get in the company car equipped with a GPS system directing you where to go. Travel around Southern New England picking up water, soil, air or various materials to be lab tested. Nothing heavy or large. Occasionally drop off the written reports of previously tested items. On average make 4-6 pick ups driving roughly 200 miles a day. 30k a year plus o/t over 40 hours which runs a few hours each week and full benny's.
Oh yeah, 28 y.o. millennial.

Brutal..all I did was 24/7 in the Navy...well actually it wasn't 24/7...we did get to sleep :D

My sister is thinking off shutting down the 2 tanning salons she runs in Pa. because she can't find people to work. They think it's to hard to turn on and wipe down a tanning bed for people.

Don't generalize. That dude is just a *****.

He hired, nope it's 'brought onboard' Navy dude a couple of months ago. Retired USN, short stint as a teacher, after the Navy. Says he loved working with the kids but couldn't take the admin bs. 52 years old, comes in early, stays late, works circles around the 20 something's.

Dude, don't even bother. You'll never be able to convince Bob and a few others here that all of us young people aren't lazy schmucks.
Absolutely great young people abound around here. You have to look for'em though because they aren't hanging around looking for trouble.

Yep.

During my 7+ years in retail, and particularly when I worked for the little mom and pop store near my house, I worked with plenty of young people that cared about their jobs and worked hard. Of course there were some that were lazy, but they never lasted long anyway.

My little girl is on her nth job of late. Graveyard at a local coffee and dug-nut shop (Tim Hortons, you might have heard of them) She went from hired, to head of shift, to trainer (while still wearing an 'in training' nametag) inside of 3 weeks. She's something of an over achiever ... for the first few months. Then she gets bored and moves on.

wrong Greg, I know there are plenty of hard working young people. So no not all young people, But there's also plenty of them that sluff along doing the minimum and bitch constantly. it's those that my posts are meant to address

Fair enough.

I see that your OP says job related stress but I have my doubts whether the doc would include reasons for the stress to the employer.
I know mine wouldn't. I would guess personal issues were behind the stress. JMO and more than likely wrong. :D
